I have come to reason that where you have ultimate power, .... you will also have ultimate corruption.

I do not believe that the G20 is a sinister body, per se; but I do believe that it lacks transparency. That is, there is no permanent secretariat - the role merely seems to go from one person to the next - and many of the most important meetings are closed-door undertakings. I feel that the leaders of the G20 nations do indeed approach it with a level of sincerity in regard to their home-grown economic issues; however, I do not feel that membership should be entirely inflexible. While I understand that it aims to bring together major advanced and emerging economies, I can undertsand the ire of the leaders who feel shunned. And I know that G20 host countries can extend invitations to other, non-member nations but I feel that this could be seen as nothing more than a self-serving exercise. If the global economy is to be managed, it should not be done so by 20 nations during those afore-mentioned closed-door meetings. It should involve all countries - rich or poor, developed or not - and provide transparency to governments and their people alike.
