In India after the Media revolution , practically eveyone is watching movies on either TVs, Monitors or even on their Laptops. DVDs and VCDs have becme cheaper and very affordable. With this, the business incurred by the Theatres have came down considerably in last few years!
But surprisingly now it seems people have started reverting back to viewing movies in Cinema Theatres and there has beeen good increament in multiplexes in big cities with utamodern facilities. In medium cities also there is good rush at the theatre in the first week! Ofcourse as compared to multiplexes the cost of the ticket is quite less here!
I also happen to see a couple of movies last month in my home city in the Cinema theatres and that way I along with my family go to movie atleast once in a month in one of the multiplexes nearby!
Now I think trend is changing back to watch the movie in theatres, What is the cenario at your area, Do people swithching back to Cinema theatres for watching movie? Do you still watch a movie in atheatre? Please respond ! Thanks !

I can't even remember when was the last time I went to a movie theatre. That must have been over 20 years ago. I used to a movie addict then, going to theatres atleast three times a week. Now, getting too busy at work, I don't have the time any more for that. If I want to watch a movie these days, I would sit in front of the TV and watch it.

I don't know what the "trends" are. I typically don't follow them. I still see movies in theaters fairly often. I don't usually go to the 1st run theater though... I go to the 2nd run theater because the movies there are much cheaper. I have to wait for a little while... but there really are very few movies that I want to go see immediately (Legend of the Guardians was one I went rushing out to see on opening day, and I loved it!). Mostly I wait until a movie reaches the 2nd run theater. That way if I totally hated it or only thought it was okay then I don't feel like I've wasted a ton of money. I rarely find a movie that I wish I had run out and seen immediately, and I rarely regret the seeing the movies I do run out and see immediately.

That's really appreciable approach! It is really a practicable thing to do so. One can wait till second run to save some money so long he/she is not in real hurry to see the movie! I agree seeing a movie in a theatre gives a different thrill and feeling! Thanks for responding!

I watch movies on theater cuz i have my own theater. Watching movies on a tv set is lame. I'd rather watch it on the big screen with surround sound. It's bigger and It's better.

Sometimes, but i prefer dvds, they are much more convenient and cheaper too- and I can watch them anytime with my family. Although watching in a theater is much more fun...

I love watching at the cinema. Especially now with 3D. My friend and I regularly watch at a nearby mall. There are just movies that need to be seen in a big screen, with sound surround. And, of course there are those that should be seen in 3D!
