I was teaching my daughter about her lessons every night then out of the blue she ask me this question "What is armpit for? She's 4 years old now and mind you 4 years old ask questions that we parents not pay attention much.I am not that shock about her question but what i was thinking that time was how can i explain to her things about science that they can comprehend easily.

Well, I'm not a parent and all, though it's quite easy. =D I have been around with kids younger than myself and the best way to get along with them is to think just like them. Not depending on scientific basis they would probably encounter in several years to come. Anyways, simply tell her a simple meaning of "armpits" in a very simple, yet meaningful way. Tell her *in a kidly or childish* way of speaking so that things wouldn't get too complicated for her that much and so that she wouldn't see that you're having a hard time explaining to her also. Armpits = organs that takes off sweats that can really be eekky and stiiiiinky! :D .... and then go for the tickling part ^_^ Hope this helps.

That's true. Especially when parents go nervous and that and the kids see it... they suddenly go "ninja" mode and act weird. I was like that as a child :D

Children do ask the oddest questions sometimes and it's often hard to understand just what answers they need! Q: "What is the armpit for?" Here are some answers that I know most children would find quite sensible (and amusing!): A: It is where we put the thermometer when we take our temperature. A: It is for making rude, squeaky noises when we cover it with our hand and squeeze. A: It is for smelling to see whether we need to wash Go on, tell me I need to grow up!
