Got my free laser pointer in mail and the cats love it, the younger one has never seen anything like it so she's been having tons of fun. Was nice to see the older one play around again too, but the older one eventually realized she's not going to get it. Now it takes a lot to get her to even try anymore.
The younger one however always goes for it though. She's about 18mths now so by no means a kitten. She's even seen the light on her paw in front of her face and still doesn't get it.
So do some cat's just never get it, or is it simply the older age cat is wiser?

Laser pointers are lots of fun. I have a pug who is addicted to it, he will chase it for hours. We have a blast taking him out to a field at night and using it, he gets great exxercise!
Older cats simply are not as playful as younger cats. They tend to be happier lying around watching the world go by. Your older cat probably just lost interest in it. Also some pets simply enjoy it more than others. We have a Chihuahua who thinks the Pug is nuts for chasing it and the chihuahua is a year and a half younger than the Pug.
Its great that you ae having fun with your young cat! Its wonderful exercise for her!

Thanks for sharing, dogs are fun to get going with them.
Yeah, I think it's just my older one, being old. She has been sleeping bit more then usual.

Hi eearn money2 long time no hear from. My cat also has a laser pointer he plays with. He gets in a playful mood once or twice a day, and this is one of his favorite toys. He thinks it is a bug or something. is so cute. Of course you have to be very careful not to get it in their eyes.

yeah, I like to shine the light on the wall across the room so my cat has it's back to me and the light.
I've been trying to "end" the light near the other cat toys so she get's the hint, but it never works. just keeps looking around like it's going to appear out of thin air, again.
