Have you tried to sacrifice your pride for the sake of doing something?

I have taken a personality exam and the result is that i am an "extrovert" type of person. This is maybe because i always put a wall so that i will not get hurt. My pride is always my shield. If i think that doing something will affect me negatively, then i prefer not to do it. However, there are times when i left myself vulnerable and forgot to use my shield and found out being affected. Have you tried doing it yourself? Are you happy with the result? Please share.

Personally I do not even think of pride when it comes to doing anything really. Pride is more of a feeling than a shield for me. I try to help where ever I can and if I get hurt, naturally I feel let down and upset but pride sometimes can get in the way of a persons thoughts. If I have done great with my thoughts then I feel great and satisfied.

Maybe it's because of my personality. I am easily intimidated and my defense mechanism is to shrink down, cover myself to any possible pain. It's my pride that keep me standing but deep inside i crumbled. Seeing me breaking down means the end of it. Thanks for sharing.
