Ok my problem is that I am having a birthday party for my son this Sunday and I am making deviled eggs. They are always a big hit! I usually put them in a glass dish but they slide all over the place. I had intended to buy a tupperware container with a lid that holds deviled eggs but I forgot all about it. Is there anything I can do to keep them from sliding all over the place in the glass dish? Any ideas greatly welcomed!

What about just laying a paper towel on the plate first? I had to laugh at the sugar suggestion! lol. I know it's too late for this one, but for the next time you make eggs I have a perfect suggestion. I bought this thing from Pampered Chef. It is a 13x9 container. the tray inside has a liquid in it that you put in the freezer. One side is flat, the other has divots for deviled eggs. So you can put the thing in the freezer and then it keeps your eggs cold for hours! Plus the other side is flat so you can put a cake in the thing. It also came with a divider thing to make a veggie tray on top the flat side.

Wow thats really neat. I have never bought anything from pampered chef. I was going to buy a covered deviled egg container at wal-mart or wherever I could find one but I forgot about it when I was at wal-mart to check. I looked at price chopper and family dollar today but neither had any kind of deviled egg dish :( My last choice will be to see Saturday afternoon when I go to wegmans to pick up my sons cake if I can find one there. I already thought about the paper towel idea but I think the paper towel will stick to them if they are wet at all.

I said in my discussion as well as in some of the responses that I left that I forgot to buy a deviled egg plate type container. If I had one I wouldnt be asking for advice on what to do to keep them from sliding around. I am hoping to get to the store before the party and get one but since I havent been able to find one so far at any of the local stores I need advice on what to do if I cant find one.

I always place a decoratvie paper lace doily beneath the deviled eggs and it seems to stop the sliding around, as well as adding a decorative contrast to the serving dish.

It seems like the doily would get soggy if the eggs were wet at all and then the doily would stick to the eggs. A doily is thicker then a napkin though so I dont know maybe not. It does sound like it would be pretty though to put a paper lace doily under the eggs for decoation. Obviously a white paper doily wont show very much next to the white eggs though hehe. A red paper doily would probably look pretty.

it's very easy... sprinkle some sugar on a plate..then just put the deviled egg upon the sprinkled sugar...your egg must not going anywhere...and the kids likes sugar isn't?

How much sugar would I have to put in the bottom of the glass dish? It doesnt seem like sugar sticking to the bottom of the egg will taste very good though. I wonder if salt would work? Then again salt can be a bit much if the eggs are already slightly salty.
