ways to sell old things online...

Well, thanks to the fabulous economy, I'm strapped for cash... as is a bunch of other people. I've been part time for like 2 years now and we're REALLY starting to feel it now... I've gone and got a 2nd part time job but they're barely giving me hours SO, I've decided to sell some things I have around the house. My first thought was Ebay. BUT, they NOW charge you a listing fee (the last time I used it, they only charged you if you sold the item... so the listing fee thing is new to me)... If I could afford the listing fee, I'd do ebay but, I just can't... OR if I knew for CERTAIN that it'd sell, I'd ebay it. Does anyone know of any other sites that I can sell my things (books, CD's, toys, cassette tapes... nothing fancy smancy or large) in either an auction type place or a buy-right-out kinda place? I know there's Amazon.com also but I don't know if they charge fees as well (When I say charge fees, I'm referring to even if the item doesn't sell... I'm willing to pay a fee for something that DOES sell but not for something that I still own because no one wanted it) And, with the places you suggest, do you know what the fee is that's charged once the item is sold? Thanks guys! And Happy MyLotting!

I don't think Amazon has a listing fee unless you upgrade your account type but you can also try things like craigslist to list your items or even the local newspaper might have a classifieds section? What many people do in my area is have yard sales on Sundays to sell unwanted things, they don't have to pay any fees then and you can also market the products with more ease.

Thanks! I posted a few items on Craigslist (10 books)... I looked into Amazon.com and if you sell less than 40 items a month there's no monthly fee, otherwise it's $.99 for each item plus a % of the sale... Which is fine if it was a book of good value... we're talking books that I'll be LUCKY if I get a buck for... I'm keeping all the GOOD ones ;-) I'm slowly weeding thru my bookshelves and keeping my favorites and getting rid of the ones that I probably will never read again... I have some hard covers from some well known authors but Ive never read any of them so when I finally get to them, I'll know if I plan on keeping or selling, and if I sell then I should probably be able to get more than a buck for it!

You can try cash4books.net. I believe they let you type in the ISBN number to see what they would pay you for the item and I think they also pay shipping. I have never used it but have heard it is a good site to use.
