AVG VS Avast - which is best anti virus program

I prefer AVG by far. But if you are to choose to buy one, better go for kaspersky. And by no means choose Norton - I have not seen another software that can slow down a computer as much s Norton does.

AVG and Avast are neck to neck in the competition . I have been using AVG free Anti Virus for many years . The AVG 8.0 version was very bad . It had poor detection and removal rate , very poor update manager and slowed down my system very much . So I changed to Avast and found it satisfactory . But then came the AVG 8.5 which brought back AVG's high quality standards . And now with the release of the AVG Anti Virus 2011 , its high time I feel AVG is THE BEST in the free anti virus category . Avast too is good but comes only next to AVG . Comparatively I found AVG had the same detection rate , higher removal rate and lesser system usage than its Avast counterpart . AVG rocks!!!

I am using Avast Free (and for many years I used AVG) but AVG, Avast and Avira are all good and respected free AV solutions. I would also advise using Zonealarm Free firewall and Spybot S&D to counteract spyware.

There's a big diffrence between if you are looking for the best or the best compared to the price. I simply love AVG. Is it the best anti virus program on the market? No, problably not, but is is OK? More than OK! And is it free? Oh yes :) That's all you need to know really.

i don't know i think they are improved both so i ccan't make a real rank between these companies...in reality think avg is really ok i used it for long time and i never took infections or when there was malicious or suspicious activity avg always detected it and delete it!!So it hink you are safe enough if you use both!!
