Play that song again

I'm listening to Lionel Ritchie's The Only One. For almost thirty minutes now. Over and over. There are just days when I want to play a certain song over and over for a long time. Most people find it annoying. But, I don't know why I don't. Do you like to listen to songs over and over again? If yes, what songs have you played non-stop. I have a lot of those, but for the moment, I can't get enough of this song. What do you think?

As a general rule, I do not like to listen to one song over and over. However, occasionally I do like to. The one that usually gets me is actually on a dvd. It's Tamela Mann singing, "Step Aside." There have been nights that I played it over and over and over!

I don't think I've heard that song. I'll look it up. Who knows, it would be next to my "broken record list"

It's in one of Tyler Perry's plays, "What's Done In the Dark." She sings it.. but then Tamela Mann can sing now!!

i don't just play the song over and over, I sing along with it! happens to me a lot, and the most I've done was to play taylor swift's love story over and over again for like, more than a week straight. the song's so upbeat and fun and cute (altho i'm not in love that time, no!) I had to hear it and listen to it over and over. I sound like a giddy teenager here.

It's fun to be a giddy teenager again every once in a while. I sometimes think that I'm an overgrown 17-year-old myself! I would love to sing along with the song, but I might just drive everyone at the office crazy! So, I'm content with having to listen to the songs in my own small space, with my headphones on.

I've never been one that could listen to the exact same song over and over again. I think that the reason for this is because when I listen to the same thing time and time again I have a tendency to get it stuck in my head and that will quickly drive me insane. That said, there are times that I can listen to all kinds of music from the same artist for the duration of a day because that is what I enjoy doing.

Yes, that could happen, and it can drive you crazy. For my part, when I've been OD-ing on a song, I will play a different song after, and then I won't be bothered by the other song. There are also times that in order to get a song that keeps playing in my mind off, I actually play it over and over. After that, it gets "erased" out of memory. I don't know why that happens.

Hello, I don't listen to a song over and over again even if I want to. I believe that repeating something beautiful for a considerably large amount of time makes the thing less attractive in future. No matter how pleasing a certain thing is we shouldn't overdo it. Overdoing it lessens the amount of excitement each time you do it. After you continue doing this for a few days it will loose all its charms. Even a time may arise when you completely detest the thing. Thanks. God bless you.

That is a good point. I will keep that in mind when I'm tempted to OD on a song again

I go through phases where I listen to songs over and over. It depends on my mood which song it is. Certain songs just touch my mood in a certain way and I just can't get enough of it. Most recently, I've been listening to Queen with Paul Rodgers on vocals. Radio Ga-Ga and Another One Bites the Dust have found the repeat syndrome for sure. They put me in a good mood. Simple as that. Usually when the super repeat phase is over, I hardly listen to the song at all, mostly because I've moved another song into the repeat play mode. A friend of mine told me it's OCD. Don't know if that's true or not, and really, don't care. I like what I like and it's certainly not harmful to anyone. My mom was always like that too. I remember as a kid, she would play I Never Promised You a Rose Garden over and over and over. It's not all that uncommon a phenomenon.

I guess you can call it a "women's thing" and I'm glad I'm not the only one who "suffers" from it. I guess it could be a manifestation of OCD, we don't have to worry because it is normal for "normal" people to exhibit some symptoms of psychosis, but only to a minimum.

I've been in this situation a lot of times already. I experience doing this when i can relate to the meaning of the song. Like when i heard this song from Michael Bolton "missing you now" i played it all day because i miss my boyfriend too much. and whenever i hear the song i imagine him telling me that he misses me too. Also when i want to be relaxed i play my favorite songs over and over again. it makes me feel comfortable and relaxed.

Yes, sometimes it can be comfortable and relaxing to play a favorite song again and again. But don't do it too much because you just might tire of the song, then it won't be your favorite anymore.

I like to listen to songs over and over again. Since I am heartbroken, I listen to Evanescence's My Immortal. I listen to it until I doze off and when I wake up, the song is still playing in my ipod. Sometimes I even dream about it me singing the song.
