What will you do if you encounter someone you know, ask the amount of money to you? You knew from the past that the person has already lots of money borrowed from you. He said he would pay you back after he had finally solve the financial problem he had with the family. Are you still going to lend him the money?

It always happen to me and my husband. They will tell you stories that will target your conscience,so what you do is to take pity and lend them the money. The next few days they will come back and borrow some more. Then we found out that he is always gambling so after that we tell him that we don't have the extra money so we can not lend him anymore. We also avoid that person. Personally I don't want to be hard on him but if you will always lend them money they will become dependent on you. They will not strive because they will think that they will always be someone to lend them. and save them from financial matter. I always believe in the saying that "don't give them the fish but teach them how to fish"

and if you can not say no to that person maybe you can practice my husband's way of lending. For example if someone wants to borrow 3 thousand from him, he will just lend him half of it and consider that money not to be returned anymore. If the lender return the money it is ok if not at least you will not loose a huge amount of money.

I don't think so. I also had that experienced. I also lend money to some of the people I know, but they don't even care to pay me back. One thing I learned is, when you decided to lend money to someone just don't expect too much that you'll have your money back, to avoid disappointments. If he didn't pay you for the first money he owes you, how could he possible pay you back in addition to the money your going to lend him?

i have learned my lessons already about friends borrowing money from me. I have not been paid and it was quite a big amount. Since then, I have never again let somebody borrow money from me.

Helping people must not end for the nth time. If we can see that the person is really in need and we have the capacity to lend help, why not. But,if the person is always taking advantage of our generosity ,then ignore. It depends upon the situation i guess. You have to weighed things too, maybe that person is just taking advantage.

I experienced exactly this situation a few months ago. She borrowed money from me coz she was just to poor and never paid it. The next time I lend her triple the amount that I did before and until now, she never paid me. So if she's gonna borrow money again, I would tell her I'm not a charity institution and that I need money too.
