Several ppl have told me this. and i really wonder what a cooking type looks like. it doesnt bother me cus ppl usually tell me this after trying one of my delicious meals. I love to cook and as a stay at home mom i see this as part of my job. besides i enjoy myself while cooking. i find this very satisfying and love the compliments from my family. my husband loves my cooking and i make breakfast lunch and dinner everyday. i love to ad variety to my meals, from mexican to chinese to italian and your traditional finger foods. anywho, i was wondering what a "cooking type" should or looks like. i need to be husky or wear an apron? can someone clear that up for me.

well now thats type casting. i dont know the reason or the meaning of it but looking at it sounds like the meals you are cooking is just average. i can not judge your cooking for i havent taste it yet but i am just saying this as an explanation on how i look at the way you started your discussion. my cousin once told me that his wife is a great cook, so one day when he invited us all on his birthday we are allexcited to taste what his wife made for his special day. they the cooking was okay, but not all as we expected when he said she was great. maybe thats what that means. if several people told you that already then maybe thats the reason. good day and welcome to the wonderful world of mylot.

I hope those people were not having Jimmy Oliver as a stereotype to compare your appearance with him! (It would be worse if they have Gordon Ramsay in mind.) For me, if someone talks about a 'cooking type' of person, I usually would draw a picture of a smiling, meagre and traditional-looking character. But different people have different points of view, and cultural background may influence what kind of expectation most people would have. It is just stereotype. Next time when people are talking about your non-cooking image, maybe ask them what kind of impression they have on you. Since normally no one would expect a stunning-looking woman being awesome in the kitchen.

LOL Well I guess must be the stereotype for a good cook would be someone fat because fat people love to eat and what more then their own delcious cooking right. LOL I really have no idea. I'm 5'4 about 105 lbs and I love to cook and am told I am a great cook. That was a very weird remark someone said to you! I am a stay at home mom as well. I love it.

Sometimes people can get labeled into categories. We may not seem to have the personality or the skills to accomplish a certain task. people will often take for granted that we can't do something just because they don't see that quality in us.

hi annita! i think you should as them why they told you like that for better explanation.hehe...because they know better for what they are saying.we never taste your food nor see you face to face, but for me if someone told me like that it is maybe because they never expect us that we could be someone who can cook or like to cook.it's beyond their expectation.but like others say don't judge a book by its cover,so they can't judge s by just looking our appearance~

LOL what does a cooking type look like, should we be covered in flour, with our hair full of grease from standing over the stove all day? who knows what that means, but hey you know you can cook, you enjoy cooking and your family loves the food you prepare, so why worry just carry on doin what your doing don't worry about those who try to stereotype us. Have a great weekend. jojo732
