Yesterday i had an interesting converstaion with one guy from America. We both talked a lot about our music taste. Everything was ok until we started to mention music "GODs" in some specific music genres. Although we have almost similar music taste, we coud not agree on the same "best of the best", "genre classics" artists. I mostly mentioned European bands, while he defended american bands.
Until finally I realized that we live in different continents, different cultures and talk different languages. Thus we have different opinion.

Nope. I meant that even we both will listen to music officialy tagged as 'alternative rock' or any other tag, we still will have completely different views on music artists in that genre based on our location where we live in ;)

hello , my friend. that's general for regional differs in the world . and there are so many people in the world . and they live in the different region and live their own life in their place. and they like the way that they are living now .and they wont change it in a century or long time. so they like it by time and time. then regional differs comes out. and this is differs. but its their own beautiful too in my opinion. thank you .

I am very keen on traveling to different countries in the world. I think that people have different tastes in music. I heard steel drums in the Caribbean and in that region they like reggae. I have listened to music in the Middle East. It sounds very different from music listened to in North America. Even in one single country there will be some different musical interests. In my home country people like different bands. Once I got given some Polish music and I really liked it. I didn't know what the singers were singing about because for me it was a foreign language.

I didnt wanted to say that music is different in each world country and region! I am saying that here in Europe and in north america, which is for the rest world "civilized west" are differences even when we all watch and listening to the same music - on youtube, MTV, myspace, last.fm etc...

well i like many music styles too and i love when someone sings in his own national language.
But this time, we here in europe and i believe in north america too have almost similar music programs, shows, websites (myspace, last.fm and others) who show us what we listen and these differences is based on our mentality. For example i am mostly listening metal music, someone in USA too, but still European metal sounds somehow most known, popular for me in here.
