I think I mostly use rationalization the most, sometimes problems just go away and time heals so it is an arduous affair to be stressing upon a problem at hand which could interfere with other productive things and also one's health and inner peace. Sometimes living in a state of cognitive dissonance pays off as opposed to acknowledging the mess you are in, wallow in it and be miserable. This is a defensive mechanism which should keep you sane if done in a right proportion else you go insane. I think projection happens in most cases unknowingly, and then you catch yourself in the act. You see the world as you are and your perspective would make you judge events as they might not be in reality. I would rather use means of expression such as writing, painting or music to let my inner thoughts project outside than mess relationships.

Hi hushi! I think most of us do. When we do something wrong especially, we tend to put up reasons to defend ourselves. I'm guilty too. That's why we have conscience to check on this.
