It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree? Give your own opinion.

I think that children like to live in a town or a village. It is not so pleasant for them to live in a city. It is quite convenient to live in a suburb of a city but there isn't much space. My sister, her husband and children used to live in a suburb of London, the capital city of the United Kingdom. They had to live in an apartment and the traffic outside was busy. It had three bedrooms and it was on the third floor. Then they moved to a coastal town where they are still living now. They now live in a five bedroom detached house. They have a much better sort of lifestyle. When I was 19 years old I bought a cottage in a village. This was a great place to live but the public transport there was dire. I went on lots of healthy country walks and did lots of cycling. Then five years ago I moved to the coastal town where my sister and mom live. I think it is a wonderful place for my children to grow up. I have a 16 month old daughter, a 3 year old disabled son and a 15 year old son. My sister has a 13 year old son, an 10 year old son, an 8 year old daughter and a 4 year old daughter. We have been living here for 5 years now.

it's all according what you consider a big city, nyc, los angeles, etc. then i'd say the countryside. but most all ivy league colleges are outside big citys in the suburbs and thats ok too. ive lived in both and would much rather have my children in the country, not boondocks have you, but country than all the crime and strife of the big citys. Georgia's university"s are up in the mountains and their idea of a big city besides Atlanta is spread out nicely, overall all you can get great teachers anywhere, just because their in a high priced city doesn't mean squat.

I think it is better if they could experience living in both places. Have vacations in the countryside during holidays, then study in the big city.

the life always has two sides. As for me, don't say that It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than a big city. If children grow up in the countryside, they will have many spaces for play and activities. however they will not have condition to contact with modern technology. If children grow up in the big city, they will be contacted with modern technology as well as good education systems.

I agree... Countryside is the better place to raise children. It is still fresh and the people is nice. While big city, what can be spoken up from that? It is polluted and full of angry people. Big city will drive us crazy. No peace at all in big city. Children will be happy if they live in countryside.

I prefer country side as life there will imbibe basic values in children.Life in Cities is artificial, with ONLY money as the first priority,IMHO.

Disagree. Do countryside have better schools & colleges and better private tutors that are required for the children?

Hi lemonle! I think it depends on what your priorities are for your kids. Whether physical, spiritual or values, I'm sure both the city and the countryside have equally lots to offer.
