Do you know red rice? Wow, I can't believe it my self. It can cure many diseases like heart disease, high tension, diabetes, cancer, and rheumatic. Well, I have some problem with my feet. It's so painful. I can't walk strongly. Then I started to drink aloevera but it's too sour. I found another alternative. This is good. I drink red rice powder twice a day. And the pain is getting low little by little. Well, that's good for me too.

I read this article that a new study published in The American Journal of Cardiology confirmed the benefits of Red rice as an alternative for lowering cholesterol levels. Researchers at the University of Connecticut followed 25 people who took Red rice for a month. They found out that this group lowered their total cholesterol and LDL levels by an average of 17%.

Yeah, from what I've read, the main thing red rice is good for is for lowering LDL's and triglycerides. And actually Red rice contains the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor lovastatin that is commercially known as Mevacor. From a quick glance, one of my sources suggest that there are also other active ingredients similar to statins (Zocor,Lipitor,Mevacor, etc.) in red rice yeast.

Good for you, that you are recovering by drinking red rice powder. This is the first time that I heard there was such. Do you mix it with water or juice? how does it taste like? I actually like eating red or brown rice. It's a bit coarser that the white variety and has a little bit of a flavor, but I don;t mid it at all. It just tastes natural for me. I think one of the richest nutrients that we get from red rice is fiber. It enhances our digestive system that flushes away toxins from our body. Red rice is not as popular and is a bit more pricey; yet the more beneficial to our health.

I drink the red rice powder of course with warm water and add honey, then mix it. The taste is better.

Interesting information! I had no idea there is red or black rice! I heard of brown rice, but it is very expensive here. And I didn't know red rice is good for heath problems. Thanks! I will try to find it as soon as possible on the market.

Red rice is good, but BLACK RICE is WAY better. I currently eat a brand of black rice called "Forbidden Rice", this was the type of rice that ONLY the Chinese Emperors and elites ate it and not the general population. There was recently a study done showing that black rice rivals blueberries in terms of antioxidant level and black rice is even more an economical alternative (cheaper) than blueberries. "Just a spoonful of black rice bran contains more health promoting anthocyanin antioxidants than are found in a spoonful of blueberries, but with less sugar and more fiber and vitamin E antioxidants" (You can read more about it if you search it up on the Science Daily website)

Really? That is AMAZING! I never knew that red rice could be so beneficial. Is there a particular ingredient added to it that is not in regular rice? I hate the texture of rice personally (I spent a week in Costa Rica and then immediately went to China... I am riced-out, LOL) but now that I've heard the benefits I'm interested. I wonder if it's any spices they add. Spices are actually incredibly good for you and can be put on any kind of food, including rice!
