winter tires, need help!

winter tires with embedded carbide - best winter tire brand?

i'm newbie driver on winter season, so i need your help guys, i got a honda civic SI-A/T, tire size is P215/45R17, what do you think is the best brand winter tires and which has better traction the narrow or wider tread?...thanks guys!
