we just buried a friend today

today, we attended the burial of a friend and classmate. he was 35 years old. we had been classmates since we were in grade 1. he was a good guy, cool with the guys, the girls liked him and the teachers trusted him. but somehow, through the years, he had hypertension (high blood pressure) as well as kidney problems. but he had a stroke 3 weeks ago. one artery burst in his brain (aneurysm). while in the hospital, he had two more attacks-one minor and the second one is a major attack. the parents and the wife were made to decide what they wanted to happen. the doctors could operate on our friend but then again there is no guarantee that he will go back to normal again. at worse, he will not wake up and will continue to be comatose until God knows when. the best thing that could happen is that he will wake up but remain a vegetable. and they were asked to prepare half a million pesos, money that they could not afford. so the parents and the wife decided to let him go. rest in peace our friend...
