It can work both ways in the summer too, it just depends on how active one is and how much one decides to sit all day and eat I suppose. With me weight and healthy eating has no season, I work out in my home all year round so I make no exceptions during the winter, in fact I think I strive more as the weather allows me not to be so uncomfortable in doing so. Whereas summer it can be quite hot. It really is about discipline. I see you are fairly new to myLot so a very warm welcome to you.

I think that food is only part of the problem that we have with weight gain in the winter. We also exercise a lot less. In terms of eating, eat a hot cereal like oatmeal in the morning. I drink 8 oz of water about a half an hour before lunch and dinner and I always start thsoe meals with a cup of vegetable soup. Make sure it is clear broth based and is best if you can make it yourself so that you can put fresh veggies that are in season in it. Also, don't stop the exercise. Buy an inexpensive pedometer and walk 11,000-12,000 steps per day if you want to maintain your weight and 15,000 steps per dayif you want to lose weight. No excuses that the weather is too bad. Walk inside your home. I turn on a 2 hour movie and walk during the movie and relax during commercials. Don't forget to work out for about 15 minutes a day with weights. It sounds like work but when summer rolls around and you are slim & trim it will all be worth it. Good luck
