cold weather

now that its getting colder, what do you do to keep warm? do you put the heating on more and for longer or do you put warmer clothes on and save on bills? for me, untill it starts to get really cold i still dont put the heating on much yet and i just put warmer clothes on, but nearer to xmas time i will be putting the heating on more and all the windows will stay shut.

i have a habit of closing all the doors, closing the air vents and wrapping up in either more clothes or thicker warmer clothes. I also sometimes when it gets really cold have two duvets on my bed, that really does keep me warm. I try to limit putting the central heating on as i want to try and keep my bills down, life would be much easier if we could have warmer times with plenty more sun here. Christmas, although it is a great time, it is absolutely freezing, i will have my heating on, just hope it isn't as cold as it has been over the past couple of years.

i don't blame you for trying to keep the heating off, it is way to expensive. But you also have to think that you have kids and so they need to be warm, i to have a child i need to keep warm, i guess this is why i pop round to see my mum often also, she always has her heating on and so that warms us up a lot so saves me not having to put mine on as often. They really do charge so much for gas here. But i can only wear so many clothes or thicker clothes for a set period of time as once the cold hits a little more there will be a need for the heating to go on daily. I do however like candles, ok they don't warm the house up much but every little helps and i guess to see them it will make us feel a littlew warmer.

well once the weather starts to get alot colder i will be putting the heating on daily as i dont want my kids to suffer. i will need to warm the house up as its a cold house and as i dont have a dryer i will need to dry our clothes.

me too, but it doesnt help that my house is freezing so im tempted to put the heating regulary to warm the house.i just dont want my bills sky high, so im putting it off for as long as possible, by putting warm clothes on. i hate getting up in a morning because its so cold.

i do drink coffee to warm me up but there is only so much tea and coffee you can drink

i make hot meals anyway no matter what time of year it is as i prefer hot meals and i have to be in the mood for cold meals like salads.
