OK Anyone who "knows" me on here knows I am not a lover of Obama or just about anything he has done in office. Not what this is about. This is about those who attack me as a republican because I don't like this president. I was no Bush lover either. I do not like the republicans and in truth would love to have both parties dis-banned and new fresh politicians brought in who can actually help our nation. This makes me an independent. In-de-pen-dent. Get it?

I think most everyone up there on Capital Hill should be fired and those that are there can not be re-elected and just get an entirely new crowd up there to turn this country around. Forget partys...just get some people that will do things for the country instead of for themselves and their pocket books! What we have there, no matter the party affiliation....they are the reason this country is a mess. If they let it get this way, why let them continue? I think more people just vote party simply cause they don't bother to investigate what each candidate stands for or "says" they will do or see what they have done. I know at my husbands construction union....the majority of people down there don't have a clue as to what being a Democrate means or does... just that the union says vote Demo... so they do. I say good for you..be what you believe.

Hello opinionatedlady, I know that all people has their own belief and views in their life that's why if you don't like the president it is your want and nothing can change it. It is better to respect each other views in life to avoid arguing with each other. Have a nice day

This is all part of the box mentality that has developed in this country. It is part of an inability on the part of a good many people to think criticly. People put people in to little boxes because it fits a preconcieved ideolgy they themselves hold. It is also part of the false left v right paradigm that has long establsihed itself in U.S. political debate.

You MUST fit into the box on both sides of the aisle. The only reason it's "worse" on the left side is that those loons have a bigger share of media. And I've also noticed that you'll find a lot of different "types" of right-wing people. There are many agnostic/atheist people not really "conservative" to the letter but still believing in fiscal responsibility. There are many moderates out there. There are countless people with a right-leaning worldview. That's probably because, in America's mainstream, there's really only one "type" of left-wing that's allowed to have a platform - and that's progressive liberal. They've all but taken over, so everything to the right of them is completely trashed, even fellow Democrats and liberals with common sense left in the tank. They're constantly taking any and everyone not abiding their exact standards and feeding them to the wolves. The right doesn't really do that. The hard right does, but there are many more "places," if you will, to fit in on the right. Both the hard right and left are an intollerant bunch of SOBs, but the hard left have a majority in media and thus get to basically exercise their will when it comes to flaming people and working to destroy them. So, to them, there is no such thing as independent. Juan Williams isn't left-wing enough for those loons, so now he's the worst type of conservative - a traitor. If you're truly an opinionated lady, then you'll probably always be on the lunatic fringe of the right according to our crooked media today. In fact, you won't even qualify as a "lady" to organizations like NOW. You're screwed. But join the club! I was called a racist just yesterday. (The guy who called me a racist didn't spell it right, so it was more funny than insulting.)

True true and don't even get me started on the racist thing. Look up a posting I had from a week or two ago I was fuming. No I have always been on the fringe for my beliefs, be they religion, politics or morals. I believe in fiscal responsibility and that families should have parents that are married. Yes that means gay marriage too. I keep being told that this particular belief is in opposition to it's self but I do not. Think maybe I will start a post about this too. he he he

Im in Canada and I think you should have the freedom of being whatever you want and pick whatever party you want to. Isnt your country and mine free countries with freedom of speech and ideas? I feel the same in our country also....we need to wipe them all out and start fresh. Its no fun anymore and many arent even bothering to vote anymore. I can feel you. Im sorry some pick on you for your political ideas, it shouldnt be.

Yes it is sad. For so many it is freedom of speech until you disagree with their speech.

I totally agree with you. Actually, I believe neither Bush or Obama are fit for office. I believe that anyone who bullies persay, the other party, is just setting a bad example for the younger generation. We don't let our young children go around with signs saying they don't agree with another persons views, do we? I am pretty disappointed with how people of higher office think they can treat others.

Believe me, I know what it feels like to be attacked for my political views but in my case it's because I DO like President Obama. Notice I didn't say I "adore" him or that I "blindly" agree with everything he says or does. Anyway, I think it's ridiculous for anyone to personally attack another person because they have differing political views. There's absolutely nothing wrong with liking or not liking any particular politician. It's fine to be a Democrat, a Republican, an independent or any other party. Just imagine, if everyone agreed we'd have one party running the whole country all the time and that party would be bound to really screw up eventually; then what? Annie

yes, i think the democratic and republican parties should both no longer exist. its too easy to label someone as a democrat or a republican and quite frankly i think it gets in the way. what about instead just look at the individual that's running for office for who he/she really is?
