About a week ago, I was saddened by my father's caregiver's ( of 4 years) sudden hospitalization. Lina is a picture of a healthy caregiver who has never been sick seriously of certain illness that may hamper her duties, she was a very loyal carer, a person we consider as part of our family already. She has attended and cared for my father (who is a quadreplegic caused by his stroke), she has all the energies needed to bathe him, change diaper, do dental hygiene, and even cut his hair, and a lot of other things extraordinary.
I simply love and salute her a lot, I never hear her complain either. She love what she is doing, she is instrumental in prolonging and adding more years to my father's life. She is simply adorable and amazing gift to us, she cries when my father is in pain, when he got sick, but laugh a lot when my father makes faces of naughtiness.
Lina was diagnosed having a gallbladder stones which needed an immediate surgery and hospital confinement. She was so anxious of her approaching surgery, everyday, we get to visit her, pour out our support and continuous prayers for the success of her surgery. I was blown away with her fighting spirit, her faith and her desire to live a gracious and a could be second life..
Today, she's done with the open cholecystectomy, the operation she was once afraid of but a much-needed procedure to halt the gnawing pain in hear upper abdomen. She is in the brink of recovery, my family is there every step of the way and indeed we see her body responding quite well.
My father misses her so much, eventhough he cannot utter, his expression is suggestive and denotes sadness. Frequent crying and unmindful stares of him is something we truly understand..that is, he longs for her caregiver. Sooner or later, we are still hopeful Lina will be in good shape again, a grin in my father's face will be obvious once more..God loves you Lina, we pray for your speedy recovery!!
