As we known, Vitamin C is an essential nutrient for our health. The important thing is that Vitamin C can not be produced and also stored for later use by the body. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin. It means that when we consume this vitamin, it will leave our body through our urine. It is recommended to take 500 milligrams per day of Vitamin C. Amount greater than 2,000 mg per day is not suggested because it can lead to stomach upset.

hello poggi... i'm totally agree with you. Nowadays, there are a lot of product that contain vitamin C 1000mg. The sad thing is that many people think that vitamin C 1000mg is good for their health. It is said to maintain our immune system, but the result is our kidney 'destruction'... Thank you for responding

If it is from natural source like fruits, there is no problem of consuming such a large amount of vitamin C in a day. But if it is laboratory-purified or laboratory-formulated, then it can harm your stomach, kidney and the liver. For commercial vitamin C (ascorbic acid), a dose of 500mg per day is enough. Don't take too much of commercial vitamin C. It can act as gastric acidifier, or the oxallic acid in it can bind with calcium and form harmful kidney stones.
