microwaves

what do you use your microwave for? i only use mine for warming food and milk up and i cook jacket potatoes in mine. i did used to use it for alot more but for some unknown reason i dont use it as much. i must be cooking alot more as my kids prefer proper homecooked food, but we do enjoy kfc or mcdonalds sometimes. so now more food gets cooked in the oven than the microwave as the quality and taste is better.

I have in the past used it for warming up my brew, or even when ill and i have made a hot lemonade i have used it for this also. On many occasions when i was younger i often came home late and tea was already put out, i then had to warm it up in the microwave, i wasn't happy with this as it doesn't taste nowhere near as good as what it would have done freshly cooked. To warm up proper home cooked food in a microwave does not give a good taste. I do however sometimes use my microwave to defrost things, especially if i am in a rush, i now try not to use my microwave at all unless i really do have to.

I only use ocationally the microwave to heat cooked rice or to warm milk when my gradchildren come. As for the rest, it´s using up a good space in the kitchen withput serving any purpose. I love to cook and I cook eother on the range or bake and roast in an electric oven. I find that microve cooked food changed taste and even colour. Meat is a disaster.
