How do you motivate yourself to seriously do your exercise?

That is my problem because I have a desire to do exercise but I can't overcome my laziness of doing it seriously. I get tired easily then quit. I just love to think about it but how did you discipline yourself when it comes to maintaining exercise? I am becoming more heavy now. It is really tiresome when you are getting heavy. What is your motivation to make you do your exercise?

I cannot stand the normal ways of exercising...Treadmills and things like that just bore me to no end. I started putting on my iPod, and dancing around my house when nobody is home. I am not even exaggerating 20 minutes can go by and it feels like only 2! I just get lost and start dancing to whatever I like. For some reason this does not work for me on a treadmill...Mainly because I am walking in the same place over and over and over.

I know its hard to stay motivated, I've been exercising for awhile now. I think what motivates me is seeing the weight that I've already lost, and I know if I quit now, the weight could come back and I'd be right back where I started. There are days that I'm lazy too, and I just can't get myself to get up and get moving, I just tell myself its something that I have to do or I'll be sorry later..Good luck..once you get started it will hard to quit believe me.

That's why I do my walking dvd's at home, its in the privacy of my living room and I don't have to go out anywhere, where there are a bunch of other people. It doesn't give me a chance to be lazy, I don't have to get out. I think that's the problem with some people is that they just don't want to have to get out and exercise, some people don't want to have to go to the gym. You should find something that you can do at home, like the videos, you don't have to worry if its raining or cold, you won't have to get out in it. I think that would be motivation enough.

That's the hard thing,,, to overcome our laziness to do the exercise. I just admire those people who really are striving hard to spend time going to the gym in a regular basis just to maintain their daily exercise.

What motivates me ? To keep healthy ! I understand that exersizing is absolutely necessary to keep healthy. Of course, there are many ways of exersizing, and one can choose the way that suits onself. For me , I have chosen jogging as the way. I would go out jogging in the park near my home every eveing after I get back home from work. That is very refreshing ! I very much enjoy jogging.

I love walking or jogging but the area where I live is not conducive to walk or jog. It is cold to do that this time and the space is not enough. What I do is just do my exercise inside the house stretching.. but I felt lazy doing it all the time.. I mean regularly.

I generally like to do exercise that involves activities I enjoy. I do things like go out dancing and hiking. When I am just running I make small goals. I say okay I have to get to that tree up ahead and then I can start walking. I find it helps me. I also listen to music while exercising. I find I have certain songs that really motivate me.

That is correct!! I think you are right.. music is one thing that could trigger our body to move.. Thanks for that idea.

my mom already trained me to be a discipline person so if i have a goal i will really do my best to reach it. i am also very passionate. so it is not difficult to motivate myself.

Good for you. But me, I am still trying to find ways to motivate myself to do exercise.
