I use in-home walking dvd's, I use them to walk everyday. I've lost 35 lbs so far, they're easy to do, and they don't take you very long to do them.

Thanks for the tip. I wil definately look it up. I don't have a tv or dvd player right now though. I think there is something similar on wii fit. My friend was telling me about it. They have trees and stuff on the screen that go by you so you actually get some scenery.

Its like marching in place, but there are other steps that you do too, the music gets a little faster as you walk till your like speed walking. I first started out doing the 1 mile walk, then as you progress you'll be able to walk longer. I'm now doing the 4 mile walk, but I mix it up everyday, somedays I might just walk 2 miles, some days 3. Look up Leslie Sansone..she's the walk instructor on these videos.

I work out about three times a week. I generally do an hour of cardio. On weekends I try to get out a walk a bit. I've been feeling under the weather this weekend, so that didn't really happen. I try to eat pretty good food- a lot of fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. I'm cutting back on soda- even diet soda isn't good for you. I guess that's pretty much it. I'm not really that fit- I'm' technically a little overweight, but since changing up my diet and actually working out I've lost some weight and generally feel a lot better than I used to.

tap water - water is very important to health
Wow it sounds like you are doing a lot to keep fit. I need to start to catch up! I just crashed my car last week so I will be unable to drive for a while. This will mean walking everywhere for me for 2 weeks- a month. I hope this helps. I'm living in a very cold place so I won't really be going for hikes or whatnot as winter sets in. I could do skiing but its expensive and I find it hard on my back. They have free yoga at lululemon every sunday so if I get sunday nights off I'm going to start checking it out. My food situation is out of control. I've been so busy with moving and my car crash that I haven't gotten groceries. This means I have been eating outfor every meal. I try to eat healthy but its not always possible. Its also getting really expensive. I too need to cut down on pop. All you really need to drink is water. I want to get back to doing that.

Monkeyrose, I participate in a few sports and swim and bicycle and walk for pleasure and also do a few yoga things. I believe that it is not just the exercises that counts, but one's frame of mind when doing them. When it is too cold or rainy or too late to go out, then I play on my mini-trampoline (rebounder)indoors. Second on the comments about water. Drinking lots of purified water is critical to fitness.

Wow It sounds like you are quite active. I was getting to be that way before I moved. I was doing a hike once every two weeks and running at least twice a week. I did my exercises every day. I miss being in shape. I hope I can get a routine going once I get used to this new town. Thanks Drannhh

Sleep is definately really important. I'm not getting enough sleep right now because I'm staying at a hostel. there is a lot of noise until late. I also find myself waking up throughout the night. The bed is very uncomfortable as I can feel the springs in my back. I always wake up tired and sore.

I stay between 1500-1700 calories per day using my calorie counter on Sparkpeople.com and I also keep a blog on my daily intake, goals, and accomplishments. I also dance around with my iPod for exercise. I maybe go to the gym once a week when I am lucky. Dancing is my main form of exercise.

I used to use sparkpeople too. I got busy and stopped using it. I really like to dance too. I have a few favourite songs on my ipod that I enjoy.

brisk walk, do sports you enjoy (like swimming, dancing, jogging, cycling, yoga)... i think dancing is great because it's enjoyable, vibrant, and shapes your body. Playing wii games too :) Just move your body often and you'll get fitter.

Working out every day (or at least 3 times a week) is key, as well as eating healthy. And yes, it sounds easier than it is - it can be difficult, but that's the best and most obvious way!

I'm not very fond of exercising, but I like dancing and for me it's the best form of exercise because my whole body moves and I sweat a lot. It's also very fun and exciting. Aside from dancing, I drink a lot of water these days and try to eat less oily and salty food and have more fruits and vegetables as much as possible.

I get up 10 minutes earlier in the morning. I use this time to exercise at home before starting the day. The first couple of weeks you will feel lethargic. But, as time goes on the energy level increases.
