eighteenth birthday.

To all female mylotters, i just want to ask if your eighteenth birthday was made with grand celebration. Did you had a grand debut? I was able to attend my boardmate debut which was held in a hotel with all the good food, eighteen roses and the dance with eighteen male friends.
Me? I did not. My parents were also broke when it happend, june is my birthday month and here in the Philippines it is enrollment time. Thus, all the money goes to our education. Back then in our province, life is simple. No pizzas and burgers yet, But I spent my day with my friends. We went in a small store where fried bananas was sold. We bought lots of them and softdrinks and we had a good time!!!

It's usually the 16th birthday and the 21st birthday that is special around here. I honestly don't remember doing anything for my 18th birthday. There wasn't even a big celebration or anything to commemorate the day. It was the same old routine for me. I do recall going out to dinner with my family though. But that's hardly special since we do that for every family member's birthday.

hi johan my 18th birthday was a long long time ago and the world wat 2 was in full swing, so nor eighteeenth birthday anythings, our fellow male students had all been called to duty,except for the couple who were 4 F and they finised high school.so not grand debut, and I doubt if anyone in t he state of South Dakota in those years even knew what a grand debut was. we were scared that Germany might even bomb the US.hi Johan but still you did not miss the pizzas and burgers really with all the friends bananas and soft drinks and being with friends, that probably was the most important of all, do not you Think?

We are three girls in the family, none of us had a grand celebration. Our parents think that it is not practical to spend so much just for a birthday celebration. It is just the same with any birthday celebration we have each year, and we do not have parties. Just a simple get together with friends and dinner with family
