well, i really had no plans of going abroad beofre to work. i told myself that what ever i earn in my own country, i'll manage to make do with it..
however, now that i already have two kids, i regret that i was not able to go to other countries , worked there and save. it would be harder for me this time to leave my two kids..
how i wished i was able to do this when i was younger...

mine is i didnt have a chance to finish my college degree. my father is a musician and when i reached 18 he wanted me to join his group. he said it will benefit me. but while i was at the group i saw that this has benefit him. for he will no longer spend for my education plus he gets half of what i earn. that makes us 2, my other brother as well. so thats the big regret i had in my life. i will never do this to my son.

Actually, i too was trying to work abroad. I even underwent a 6 months training in Caregiving. However, no matter what i did in applying for a caregiving job abroad, i wasn't able to have one.
After trying for almost 4 years, and while scouting or applying for the elusive job abroad, i worked in the city. However, i was burnt by working in the city and besides i realized maybe i don't have to leave the Phils., just to be able to get a better paying job so i went back to the province where my husband and child is.
I talked it out with my husband and child and i was surprised that they don't want me to be working abroad. I was so bent on going abroad, i never really asked my family if they want me too.
So i tried looking for a job and luckily i am now presently employed at a private firm. The job i have now is a great job! One that i enjoy eventhough the pay isn't that much. But what i discovered is that my husband and child just wanted a simple life with some comforts. I also discovered i just have to simplify my needs , my lifestyle and wants . From there , i discovered too that i am happy leading a simple life and simple wants. . .and am now happy living with my family.
I can say that i didn't regret that i wasn't able to go abroad after all.

good to know that you finally settled on a local job to still be with your family.

I've heard a lot of stories like yours. That's why I want to earn a lot of money before I'll marry. I am planning to go abroad and start a family on my own there.
Hey, don't be hard on yourself. Strive hard for your family. I know it's hard but I know there's a job for you out there.
