Seagate hard drive 250gb

Right a couple of months ago I bought an external hard drive, from Argos it was 40.00 pound and came with a Belkin case. Now just recently I have encountered problems with it. Am not very good with computer vocabulary. Well it seems to be a problem with the connection to the laptop. So I open it up, there was some raptor motherboard or something which was connected to what I think is to a SATA hard drive. The motherboard made the harddrive readable by USB. But now part of that motherboard is broken, the hard drive itself seems to be in good condition. What do I do? P.S-I have looked at Enclosures but am not sure that converts the hard drive. Also I cant find the motherboard anywhere. Am not much of a DIY and am not loaded either. So sensible suggestions please?

Kishan, First thing... Never open up the laptop yourself as it voids the warranty. the first thing you can do is verify if the hard drive is working fine by checking it on some other machine. If it works then the hard drive should be fine, if not, get it to a service center. If the Mother Board is damaged then get it to the service center for repair. If it is under warranty than you might get a replacement for the same.

Sorry you misunderstood, its an external hard drive, not an internal, sorry about that..
