From a previous blog post:
Is not to do your job right all the time. When you wanted to be out of job right away, just don’t yield an output everyday – fastest way of doing it.
There are other ways of course and that will include
* Being lazy all the time. Stare into space, sleep.
* Complaining always. Complain about anything.
* Stealing company’s time, technology, supplies. Do not bother yourself buying
stuffs you can get from the office.
* Abusing your co-employees or co-workers. Make them do your job.
* Going on half-days, leaves, undertimes, and OBs when you are mostly needed.
* Deliberately not following instructions (or commands).
* Telling everybody (including the janitor) all the bad things about the boss.
This is an interpretation, what’s yours?

bingskee,
When I read your title of this discussion on my flight, I just could not respond to it immediately as it was already near my mandatory rest time.
I must say that this is really a rather odd one where it is actually seeking for the best possible way to get fired. Is this for real?
I don't think anyone would like to loose their job at this time, most of all getting fired. Especially the latter, it will definitely gain a bad reputation and have dire consequences for one's future to be rehired.
In my experience, a company will only terminate the services of a staff member when they are found to have committed a serious offense like dishonesty, commercial espionage, corruption, cheating and breach of trust. As opposed to some of those infringements that you had mentioned, I do not think that they would not warrant a termination.
I am assuming your purpose of this post to be one where it is to create awareness than seeking for ways to get oneself fired.
Great post.

you are very right, skysuccess.
this is to create awareness, meant also to evoke strong feelings or strong impressions. it doesn't really have to be taken literally but the message within.
who would really want to get fired? but some people seems not aware that there are reasons that they could get fired. the enumeration i provided is truly happening and employees or workers seems not aware of the consequences.
thank you for the response.

You are absolutely right! There are lots of ways of not keeping a job! I hope I am diligently working toward keeping all of mine! With so many out of work people complain a lot about not making enough money too. I think we should be thankful that we have some money coming in and that we are able to work at all!

There could be a great many other reasons as well and the ones that come to mind when I had to let go of employees were:
Stealing money from the company, a daily ritual of being late, and or simply just not performing up to par, impinging on patient confidentiality, and not quite the right candidate for the position.
These amongst some of the ones you listed were reasons why I had to let people go.
