Should marijuanna be legalized?

I direct this mostly at the people in the US. It has been a hot topic in recent years, especially if you live in California. My thought is that if you legalize it then it can be regulated. all of the stuff that gets mixed into that makes it more dangerous is less likely to occur. It will created jobs because there will have to be regulators, and there would be farmers of the plant. If it is legal, then it can be taxed. I would personally tax it at a high percentage just like tobacco or alcohol. This is added revenue for the state. I feel that it would bring the prison population down, maybe not considerablly, but enough to make an economic impact. We would not have to try and incarcerate, hence feeding and clothing people who are in possession of the theroetically legal marijuanna. I know that a lot of people disagree. One of the big arguments is that using marijuanna will lead to harder drugs. Most of the research I have read says that this is not the case. I know that the studies contradict one another. my 2 cents.

i am not really sure it would do good than bad. i am always wary with the fact that it could be abused at some point even though it is legal. making something that could bring bad results legal is not a deterrent, i believe. :-)

Hi there, I live in Australia but I do agree that it should be legalised but it will never happen because they get more money out of offenders with fines and stuff. If they legalise marijuanna they loose that source of revenue.

I agree that there is some money to be made from the fines, but in my county the first offense gets sent to rehab without a fine. The second gets a fine, and then the third they spend time in the county jail, which costs more to house them and feed them then the fines are.

I think it should probably be decriminalized, but it terms of being legalized, I wouldnt really think so. It is up to the individual country to decide though as to what they want to do about it. It is something that needs to be decided.

currently, it seems to be a state decision in the US. Decriminalization is definitely a step in the right direction. And just like all things that have to change, change comes slowly.

my personally feelings has changed since hearing more about marijuanna being legalized. so in the middle. it should be legalized for the sick and not well. but what about the people who are the complete opposite? just abusing the fact that they get to smoke pot and its legal. anyway. thats my opinion.

LOL,this topic seems too huge for me because too many factors need to be considered .At first ,legalization of marijuanna may lead to other loose laws, which may make the society more chaotic. As i am not famliar with US laws ,it is inappropriate for me to make any speculation .Second ,on the contrary ,it will add to prison population instead of bringing it down .How can you expect people to comply the loose law ?At the last not the least ,there is no denying that marijuanna is harmful to our health more or less .To legalize it is to damage people's health ,especially teenagers. my 2 cents too .have a nice day !

I agree with your opinion......... keep our families from things that are not good.... to prevent something that does not endanger themselves.
