An odd sensation...

Have you ever been in the dark and had the sensation some one was sneaking up behind you?
I used to walk home from work late. I lived out in the middle of nowhere at the time so there was no city lights. All the light I had came from the moon. Some nights there was no moon and things got real dark. It was a long walk and there were some parts, especially around the corn fields, where I would always feel like some one was sneaking up on me. I knew there was no one there but how can you ignore a sensation like that?
Have you ever experienced that sensation?

We all get that sensation when we're alone. It's just a matter of how sharp it is when it comes to situations like that. It's something like a survival instinct. We could be right, we could be wrong, but the important thing is It's always good to be safe.

paranoia, it seems at times, is a small price to pay for the safety it can insure.
Thanks for the perspective! =)

So you feel it is definitely supernatural in nature? Are you a spiritual person? If you have a faith, cling to it. I used to believe in a god and I would also go out looking for haunted places. When I started feeling scared, I would just think about the strength my god grants me and "fear no evil." Give that a try. Good luck =)

Your use of the word "phantom" is paticularily chilling lol. I usually imagine a psycho or murderer or violent criminal.

When i was in the ninth class i would return after tuition cutting across a newly laid but scantily lit road.My path would make me cut across a field.I would just like you have to walk in no lighting and on moonless days it would be worse.I would be scared of people walking behind me.But luckily this phase was a short period and i later grew out of such fears.

I am 24 right now and was about 20-22 when I experienced the story. I still get that feeling from time to time. I get it when I have to go downstairs in our apartment building, get my laundry, and bring it back up to my apartment. I always get it right at the stairs. I have to turn off the lights when I leave and there are so many hiding places and empty rooms down there...it would be so easy. On the other hand, I have a very powerful imagination lol
How long did it take for you to "grow out" of this?
