Superstitions are part of our daily lives. I think our life is surrounded with those sayings ... "to do this"... "not to do that"... and many warnings from sweeping of the floors to falling asleep. There are lines of superstitions that was passed to us since time memorial. But as you can see, we really don't know where it come from or who started it and why there is already a wide collection of those enumerated beliefs.... Funny is that there is no scientific evidence for such superstition yet we tend to value some of those. As what we always say... "The elders says that".. "The elders have noticed that"... and many other things concerning on what we should do and what should not be... the elders say that they already knew these things and we need to follow. They say its part of natures warning to humanity... Do we need to follow such? I think in most far and rural areas, it is very valuable. These became part of our society's core... With such folklores and beliefs, it is a rich and diversified culture that is shared and passed between generations. The thing between these superstitions is that they are with wide followers and at least have done it according to what the elders say... Example? "The bride should not wear her wedding gown before the actual wedding or else the wedding will not push though.." Hmmm.. you might have heard this, or may have seen such comment in real life or even while you are watching TV or movie. One of the strangest thing about this superstition is that they tend to draw bad luck or "negative-energy" as they say if you disobey or do not follow what the elders mandated... There are stories and stories and even names-calling of people mentioned as example to prove that these superstitions belief have real effects on our lives.. Or does it really? For me if you asked? I think there's no harm if we follow... How about you? Do you have something to share about superstition? Do you think it will lead to bad luck if you disobey some of those superstition? And in this modern world, does superstition still forms part of our daily living and interaction? So, maybe you can share it on this discussion and others tend to see and follow...

I do have my own superstition: not shaving on (football) match days as I will most certainly lose if I do. Don't dare shave anymore to see if it's possible to win.
