POEA has suspended Greengat Manpower Services Co., a licensed recruitment agency located in Ermita, Manila for the alleged recruiting of two female minors ages 14 and 17 to work as domestic helpers in Syria. An initial investigation showed that the two girls tried to pass as 23 years old to qualify as household helpers. On the other hand, an employee of Greengate mentioned that the girls applied showing prepared documents that the 2 girls are of age or have met the requirements denying their knowledge on their ages. Whether the agency has knowledge or are aware on the ages of the two girls or not, it is still improper to tolerate such kind of recruitment schemes. It has to be noted that the employment is for overseas and there are news about maltreatment on our domestic helpers. Recruitment agencies have to think first about the safety measures of our nationals when working abroad and not for their own benefit for financial.

I was thinking that Greengate is a medium for Human Trafficking.

yes...i agree with your opinion. those working as domestic servants should be noted. if the recruitment problems, we must report to the authorities that it was wrong. so no problem in the future
