Went to the Mac Millan appointment to still be none the wiser of what they were trying to say,if anything just as confussed to why they wanted to see me.Had loads of blood tests done, some bloods taken from my arm as usual and some done in my wrist, got told that they are looking to see my bone marrow, red cells aswell as the white cells also explained that they wanted a stomach scan to look closer at my splene and a few other bits in there, now its a waiting game fot the results,as in the soonest that they can fit me in is 23rd of December.Which is in 8weeks,so it is only 8 weeks until christmas.

Yikes! that's not too long! But it can be hell waiting that long for results! I hope everything is ok! But I agree. Unless the doctor is from another Country And is not Christian , this is kinda cruel this date! Here are the results, Happy Holidays See you next year! You Know specialists will have Christmas and New Years off!

I am dreading it, i could not believe the dr when i was told the date, she said i know that 8 weeks is a very long time to have to wait, but the clinic is soo full, also she did not want to leave it any longer like in the new year,as sometimes there are other tests that they have todo.As it is i have to have a scan and that also has to be done by the time i see the dr again.

Well, that is a lot longer than I would want to have to wait to get results of all the tests that they've done. In this kind of situation, I think I would have to look for another doctor. My husband has been having a lot of pain issues this year and as a result of it he was looking for a pain management doctor. He went to his first appointment and they scheduled the follow-up for five weeks later. Two days before the scheduled date of the appointment the doctor's officed called and wanted to change the appointment for a few days later. He decided that meant it was time to shop for another doctor.

The mac millan part of the hospital where i went do not have many staff to cope with all the area that they have to have patients for that need to see them.I did ask that perhaps in the new year would be better than two days before christmas, but they said that it would be too long to wait to have to see me.What is a few days compared to the 8 weeks that they are making me wait any way.

I asked if i could ring to find out the results, rather than go for an appointment,or if she could ring me,or maybe my gp could tell me.She explained that the results will need to be explained to me by her as she specialise in that where as a gp do not, also she will need to discuss other things with me.I also asked if i could wait until the new year to see her and she said it was to longer time and 8 wks is the soonest she can see me.

Waiting is never easy especially when it comes to results. Be it school examinations or even in your case, one will not feel at ease til they see and hear the results. 8 weeks might seem long at the start of it, but time really flies and by then, we rather it's another 8 more weeks before we see the results. Whatever it is, we can't avoid the fact of seeing results and we are not healthy. Though it's near christmas, it can be a great gift for u and your family when the results show that u are cleared!

No matter what the results are i am not going to have christmas ruined for anything no matter what the results are.I have a scan that i have got to have done,so sooner they do that the better as i have soo many appointments already at other clinics at the hospital and i just want them all done and dusted out of the way.

I just want all of the appointments as well as the results all done and dusted, that way i will not have to be waiting around for the results.I feel that there are times for appointments and two days before christmas is not really a great time for results.I did ask if i could wait until the new year to see her rather than just before christmas and she said no as that is too long.

Wow?!?! That's a whole lot of test to be done and check! If i'm in your shoes, i would have given up long ago, because it's tiring and mentally stressful to be waiting for those results. Even waiting for the results of one test is stressful enough, while u have to wait for how many?!?!
U are one strong woman, and i admire u, respect u as a person!
Hopefully by then, all turns out well for u and have a great christmas celebration then.. hehe

I just hate all the waiting for the results as well as knowing that they would not do all those tests for no reason.Out of all the dates it had to be two days before christmas. They have just sent me a letter saying that at least an hour before my appointment i need to have blood tests done,as that way the dr will have those results.Lets hope that it is all good news.

hi jugsjugs I g et the title now what a odd thing t o do to you and leaving you up in the air like that too right at C hristmas with all thats going on, I get so fed up myself. I have this rash with white flakes peeling from it ahd it has now spread on myleg. some of it is oozing serum. my doctor sent to my hmo for a referral to a dermatologist weeks back and here I am still not having it. and wondering what it is, and how serious is it as I an a diabetic, I can sympathize with you Jugsjugs, and hope maybe some miracle they can see you sooner and give you the results. waiting is so nerve wracking too, I really feel for you and send my bes wishes that its not too serious and can be h
ealed pretty fast.

I think that it is really bad for noone to have seen you to deal with your skin, there is nothing worse than having to wait for things that you need sorting out.I do hope that you get to see someone soon,as i know that it is no joke when you have a skin problem.Knowing that you are diabetic they should have seen you along time ago if you ask me.I hate all the waiting,as that do not help anyone.

That sounds like an awfully lot of tests and an awfully long time to have to wait! It sounds like to me they really gave you the work over! I hope everything turns out well, though, and that it won't spoil your Christmas. Please keep us updated. Hugs

I hate having any tests done,as it seems to take ages for the results to come back.I think that it would not be half as bad if they had told me what some of the blood tests were for, they told me one was a full blood count, something todo with bone marrow, white blood cells, red blood cells, then i have yet to have a splene scan with the stomach scan that is what i am waiting for to have done.I will keep you updated, lets hope it will be with good news.

I know what you mean about it seeming to be a blur. Sometimes you get doctors that you can't understand. I went to one yesterday that is Asian and although he talks good English, he talks fast. I usually have a friend go with me to all doctors and what I can't understand or remember she might. When we leave the office I often have to ask her what he said about something. I hope everything turns out well for you. Time seems to go faster the older we get, but if you are waiting and want the future to get here fast, it doesn't. At least you can keep your mind occupied with planning for Christmas. @cerebellum (3863)

That seems to be an awful lot of tests for no information. Didn't they even say what they were looking for? It is a shame you will have to wait that long. It will probably ruin your Christmas! Is there any other place you can go for the same tests?

The tests were explained, well some of them were, the dr said that they were keeping an eye on my bone marrow and a full blood count, something todo with red blood cells and some test todo with the white blood cells. It seemed that what ever she was saying and doing was abit of a blur,as she was also asking loads of questions. She was talking about my lymph glands, which i did know there was a problem as i had to have glands removed uner my armpits a few years ago and there are now problems with the ones that i have in my groin.Lets hope that it will be good news when the results come back.

Gosh that is quite a long time to be wondering if positive and or negative results will come about. Try really hard to think positive and remain busy is the only thing you can do.
Good luck and hope all turns out well.

I am trying soo hard to think that no news could be good news as well, but i have got to have a scan done as well before i see her again,so that she can tell me all the results. The worst bit was when she asked me to wait in the waiting room while she got another dr to do my blood gases,as she then came into the waiting room and put her arm around me in front of my mums partner and that is when i saw his face drop,i made light of things and said we have both had a day out today and not stuck indoors.
