Music helps me concentrate when I study

I was wondering if others find that music helps them concentrate better when they study? For me, it does but it must be music with no words. If it has words than I can not study as I find myself singing along with the music. I get distracted then. I like Yanni's music sometimes when I study because it is very upbeat and it helps keep me awake as I study my textbooks.

Yeah, same here. Sometimes I found myself sleeping while studying [w/o music] Listening to music with vocals can be a little distracting but it sort of keeps me awake XD It works for me - the part that music helps to concentrate. x.x Silent environment like libraries sometimes makes me feel like sleeping lol~

I can't listen to music with words when I study either cuz I too sing along. But music does help me concentrate and music with words helps motivate me. When I'm cleaning house I blare music so I have the motivation and will to actually clean and get it done so I'm not stuck cleaning all day lol. :o)

Music has a tendency to bring are moods up a notch, this I know as I have done so many surveys as to why retail and businesses play music. It certainly helps me as when I am down the rhythm has a way of bringing my spirits up at least for the moment.

Same here, the words always distract my mind. I listen to the waves of the ocean or soft jazz. They always relaxes the tense nerves.

If I'm not mistaken, music often helps kids and teenagers focus when they study. It may be that way with adults, too. Anyhow, I also find that some music helps me focus when I do work.
