Have you experienced fraud?

I just received a phone call from my banks fraud team, after going through several transactions it turns out that someone as been taking money out of my account. The only positive thing I can take out of this is the fact that my banks really on the ball when it comes to funny transactions. Have you experienced fraud? I've never experienced this before, although it's not the first time my banks contacted me regarding things like this as twice in the past they questioned transaction which I made and I was thankful then for the call, as if I didn't spot it then I would be down but thankfully it wasn't the case previously. The odd thing is I haven't used my card since returning from my holiday, I cover my hand and it's very hard to see what I do type. I really can't get this horrible feeling out of my mind as they could of easily cleared my account fully.....

This happened to me once, oh about 7 years ago, unfortunately it was my ex-husband during our divorce. I was outraged but then when I calmed down I realized my banks worthiness for alarming me of such. Although I ended up eating the costs, long story bad lawyer. I am sure glad the bank called me as I would have gone double nuts to see the statement in the mail.

I know I have had someone call me, out of the blue, and tell me that I have a virus on my computer and they wanted me to go on the computer and do what they say so they can remove the virus.. I had no doubt this smelled of fraud from the start of the phone. call.

once the telephone company called me to say that several telephone numbers had been hacked into and mine was one of them but not to worry they had it all sorted out and everything would be fine.

Oh that's horrible. Glad to see that your bank worked for you. I actually had my card closed one time because my bank thought there was some illegal or suspicious transactions going on my account. Fortunately, it was ME doing the activity. LOL. They got suspicious because I made like 5 different transactions that day within half an hour of each other. A girl has got to shop sometimes.

My bank is on the ball, too. Once some people got my account number and were using it to charge for gas at a station in a state several thousand miles away. Because I got gas the same day that sent up a red flag so the bank called me wondering how I could have gassed up in two places at once. I had my card in my possession the whole time, so it wasn't the card they stole, just the number. My bank sent me a new card number over that.

I have never experience that but really if i did i will be so mad. Knowing that i work so hard for it and someone else is spending it. It is so difficult to even think about it. But i remembered what happened one time in my country. Some thieves, professional at computers and those stuff. Place a device on the door of the atm machine, so when you swipe your card to open up the door, it just grab your card information where they would copy on another blank card. And they place a tiny wireless video camera over the keys where you should type your password. And then they stole a lot of money out of a lot of people account. The way they catch them though was to track them down. Too bad they are in jail now.
