How do you want a story or a movie ends?

If a movie or a book has a great influence in me, I could feel the heaviness if the ending is tragic. I'm struggling how to make it light if not a happily ever after one. Probably I could not change the ending but at least I could change the mood in my mind... ^_^
In reading a book or watching a movie, do you always expecting it to have a happy ending just like most of the fairy tales? Do you feel disappointed if the ending is not the way you prefer it to be? Thank you very much!

hi,
of course i want it to be happy ending always because if the main character die on the ending it is very sad.all of us for sure want the movie to be happy ending because if the ending is said we will not be happy of the result and will b e sad right?but it depends on the story if its needed to b e happy ending or not.
