Celebrating a Christening and First Communion

My daughter's friend has two daughters - today the eldest will take her first Communion and the youngest will be baptised.
So Helen (my daughter) has made her this cake to celebrate the occasion, complete with cup cakes for the children.
Lovely isn't it?
When one of my grandson's was baptised his father was also baptised with him as he had never been 'done' as a child; I thought that this was very brave of him as an adult.
Have you ever come across these multiple type celebrations?

Another beautiful cake by your daughter. I wish I had her talent. My middle son had a birthday last week and if you would have seen the cake I made....oh how sad it was. This Saturday is my daughter's birthday and she already told me she wants a 3-tied cake and she wants me to make it. I think she watches to much Cake Boss (I don't know if you have that show out there). Oh, well I will try, it wouldn't look great, but it will be made with love.
I have only had First Communion as a double celebration as both my middle son and my daughter made their First Communion together.

Thanks for the vote of confidence...I will try at least. Thanks also for the link. What a terrific website. I love looking at all the beautiful cakes. Is this the same daughter that just had the baby?

I am sure that your daughter will love the cake, she will know that it is made with love and will appreciate it for that.
If you want some ideas for cakes look at helen's website - loads of different cakes on there - http://www.cakedesignsbyhelen.co.uk

Your daughter is VERY talented indeed! What a beautiful cake! Has she thought about opening up a bakery? It's quite obvious she'd do a great job! About Christening, I was Christened when I was a baby and my mother kept my Christening gown to pass on to my children however, I couldn't have any BUT, I passed it on to my God daughter in which she wore it when she was just a tiny thing. Here's a picture of her in it and sound asleep. lol

Hiya chem,
Not in this Family I have not or the other as they keep to themselves pretty much all the time.
I had Holy Communion when I was about 18 years old although I was baptized before and I was luck enough to have Godfather and Godmother whom I will always love forever. They are two treasures much better than all the presents you could ever get at any Celebration of this kind.
Same as my Aunty Iris she is outside the Family in the sense she is not really my Aunty but for me she is another treasure.
Wish I could try some Cake now it looks so good but as I said in the comment it´s like a work of art you would not want to touch for fear of spoiling it.

Hiya chem,
Good for your Dad never to late to do anything like that. Of course you would be proud of him. I would be too.
Cake still looks to good to cut.
