Australia were beaten comprehensively in one off T-20 played today at Perth, Australia. Winning the toss and electing to bat, Australia seemed to still carry the hang over of the bashing they sustained in India. It did not look like an Australian team batting on home grounds and not the least on their favourite Perth pitch where they made the touring cricket teams to dance. Neither their batting nor their balling looked anywhere near Australian standards at home hampered by the absence of their star players Michael Hussey and Mitchel Johnson who were rested, God knows for what. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, they were shot out for 133 runs in 20 overs thanks to new comer Smith and reliable wicket keeper batsman Haddin. Their senior players including captain Clark and much publicised Warner, White, watson, David Hussey failed bitterly leaving Sri Lankans an easy target of 134 runs which they over hauled in 16.3 overs thanks to blistering start by Tilakratne Dilshan and solid knock by their skipper Sangakara. A bad start for Australia in the new season. England must be enjoying this.

I think it was Sri Lanka's most comprehensive performance ever in Australia. They bowled very well to restrict the Aussies to 133 with Suraj Randiv being the pick of the bowlers. It is really surprising to see an Off Spinner doing well at Perth. As per Randiv the bounce that he was getting really helped him much. Then chasing 134 as target they achieved it with minimal of fuss with seniors Jayawardhane, Dilshan and Sangakarra coming to the party. This sets up the one day series pretty well. Cheers! Ram

At Perth the spinners like Shane Warn, Anil Kumble -- have always been effective because of the bounce they get off this wicket Randiv being a tall guy exploted this advantage to the fullest. Good luck to Sri Lanka in their O.D.I. series which begins on Wednesday.

I think now the Australian cricket team is going through the bad faces of their cricketing career. They are not yet relieved from the defeat they had received from team India. Also most of the Australian players are finding it hard to find their form. But at the same time we can't simply neglect the them as they are the true "professionalist".All the players have pass through their tough situations.Hope that they will overcome it as soon as possible....
