You may want to do it before December 31st. People in Wyoming are discontinuing dialysis to die sooner. They are doing this to avoid the reinstatement of the Federal Estate taxes. The Rep Cynthia Lummis claims that her constituents are telling her this. http://trib.com/news/state-and-regional/article_d826231c-ae29-576b-b23a-13bb9c16dcdc.html So are you planning to die this year? Do you think she may have exaggerated the situation? Would you do this to avoid paying a tax?

I checked my calendar and as it turns out I'm not planning to die this year and, no, I think this is a pretty extreme, and unnecessary, way to avoid paying estate taxes. A revocable trust would be a much better way to deal with your assets...and that's just one example. As far as Lummis goes, she's either exaggerating or is some kind of loon.

lol yes I would most likely go that route. They could also put their ranches in their kid's names BEFORE they die. Pretty easy

OMG! WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO? I'm not planning to die at all, but, should Jesus tarry, who knows but He? To avoid paying this tax would I plan to die? Not hardly. But I would plan to have our corrupt government removed from office, from the usurper on down and find some honorable people to lead us back to sanity.

Or I would recommend taking legal steps to ensure that your family would be owners of the property instead of benefactors

I do have a living trust, but who knows how the government would try to raid even that.

There must be an awful lot of multimillionaires in Wyoming! Actually, I'm not planning to die this year but I sure wouldn't have to worry about any inheritance tax if I did. No, I wouldn't stop treatment to avoid paying a tax. However, if I owned a farm or ranch worth more than $3 million or whatever the amount above which is subject to the tax, I'd have put some of it into my kids' names before I became ill. I think she's more than exaggerating, I think she's telling an out and out lie. Annie

It is ranchers and farmers and there is a lot of oil there so yea, lots of well off people. But I too think she may be exaggerating a bit

If I needed to have dialysis, Id let myself die but not for the tax sh*t. My mom was on dialysis for 3 yrs and it was hell. We also have to pay taxes when people die. Its no better up here. Ive known 2 people who stopped dialysis but it wasnt about the taxes, it was because they had cancer and they would rather die that way as it doesnt hurt apparently. Its too bad that people will let themselves die because of money!! I feel that both our countries need an urgent change in government....it sounds as if we're back in the dark ages of Kings and Queens having it all and ripping candy from a baby's mouth!!

I wouldn't kill myself just to avoid paying higher taxes. Taxes are already a part of life and I wouldn't accelerate my demise just to escape from paying higher taxes.
