Being a mother is simply marvelous, yet its complicated and its an adventure of a lifetime. To be a mother, requires extraordinary strength, courage, sincerity, dedication, understand and love. This is especially true if one is also a career-woman. Juggling one's career and motherhood is something like a circus which takes a lot of patience and courage. Mothers are oftentimes the one who spend most times with the kids and doing the household chores. Coupled with that, is her responsibility towards the husband and the other kids, her work, towards the community and not to be forgotten, towards friends who can be truly a circle of haven for a stress-out mother. Just imagine how a typical working mother starts her day. Wake up and do the household chores and prepare the breakfast, wakes the kids and ready them for school and day care centers. wakes the husband to look after the kids while she readies herself for work. She then proceeds to inspect everyone and everything and horde them off to school or if lucky, the husband takes on that responsibility while she goes to work. At work, she immerses herself in her job assignment and at the close of work goes home or fetch the kids and then goes home. Do the household chores, prepare dinner and the kids for bed, she helps them with their assignments. other days she attends meetings at school and the lists goes on. Does motherhood requires one to be a superwoman? its a feat to be able to do all those motherhood responsibilities without having nervous breakdowns or so stress out.

motherhood in a certain way requires you to be superwoman because you have to take care of the kids, go to work , clean the house, cook dinner, and still look fabulous when your husband comes back home. and this it;s kinda hard. but you have to make it

you are right about that swissheart! it takes indeed for a superwoman-like mother to be able to the things she does for her family and self. It's hard for most, that's why many families fail or had some sort of falling out because the mother could not cope up with the expectations and responsibilities and coupled with a husband who is unwilling to lend a helping hand, it is simply difficult for a woman to do these things.

Dear friend, I could see most of women with mother hood are not superwoman. May be motherhood is one who understand the roles of mother well. May be combination of both mother hood and being a super women would be something really special. I feel that motherhood is much accepted by those children.

hello shamrack! thanks for sharing. I guess you're right. Most mothers we know are not that superwoman but somehow we can say they're like superwomen, to be able to multi-task, a feat which is most difficult for most men.
