Yesterday morning after worship services, one of my friends came up to me and asked, “ What do you guys have going on Friday night?” I told him I did not think there was anything planned, but that I would have to check with my wife. I asked him what he had in mind. He said "we thought we would like to go to Outback with you guys and celebrate." I said, “What are we celebrating?” He looked at me with a twinkle in his eye and said, “Five Years.” It only took a moment for it to register on me that he was talking about the fact that Friday will mark since he had a kidney transplanted, one that had been donated by my wife! Five years ago he was down to 15% function in his kidneys. He was very close to being required to go on dialysis. The person who was intending to be his donor was disqualified just days before the planned surgery. My wife stepped up to volunteer and was an acceptable match. The surgery went so smoothly. There have been no complications. Now my friend is so healthy and happy. And Friday night we plan to celebrate!

Such a wonderful gift you both gave. Health is fragile and special. Glad I came across this. Really has made my day! With all the awful stuff on the news today..Wow. I hope you enjoyed your meal and each others company! A true lesson!
