Christmas Shopping!

I am one of the few that get my shopping done early. In fact, October is done and there are only one or two more things that I have to buy. Pretty much though, I am done. Some people really do wait until the last minute and pile stress upon themselves. Granted you can find deals closer to Christmas, you can find a lot of chaotic situations. Unless you do your shopping online, which I do as well. So what kind of Christmas shopper are you? The person who gets it done early, with plenty of time to spare, so they can sit back and relax or someone who puts it off until the end. And do you shop online or brave the crowds?

Hi megamatt! First, I wanted to congratulate you for getting your Christmas shopping done early. I used to be an earlier shopper but right now I haven't bought a single thing since I am on my first trimester of my pregnancy and I can hardly leave home. As soon as I feel better then I will shop for my gifts gradually. I still have more than a month to go and hopefully I won't encounter the rush before I'm done shopping all what I needed. Advance Merry Christmas to you!

I started mine, but now I need to wait for some money to come in. I am hoping that Thanksgiving week I will be able to get some things painted in time. I am really trying to save some money for my husband's video camera. I love to get my shopping done early while my husband likes to wait until last minute.

I have done about a third of my christmas shopping already as i try to balance the cost out over the weeks so that we can manage on the money we have each week/month. I tend to shop both in the shops and on the internet as it seems to be the best way to get the bargains, aswell as its usually to get alot of the shopping before mid November because if you leave it too long the prices tend to go up.

Pacing yourself can be a good idea. If you can get it done early, then by all means. After November, it tends to be hectic and stores are swamped if you go to the actual store or items are on back order if you order online or through catalogs. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Mine gets put off until the last minute because to be honest, I have absolutely no money to shop with. I work full time and all but the economy has really made a situation that was already tight, even tighter. I will have to do whatever I can with my Christmas bonus which I don't get until just before Christmas. I hope I get one anyway. Well, it's good that you got yours done and can just kick back and enjoy.

Yes money can be a concern. I understand that well. There are people who do put it off and put it off, due to other reasons, but waiting for money is an acceptable reason. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I am done shopping for my child, and that is for her birthday and for christmas. i have ordered my mom her birthday and christmas gifts, but they are not in yet. I do not know who I need to shop for on my hubby's side, we make that decision at thanksgiving, much to my early shopping chagrin. My mother in law and father in law, my hubby does the shopping for. I do not want to brave the crowds this year. I have a kid that will not cooperate in a store. The holidays are just too chaotic to leave the shopping to the end.

Yes, it is the one time of the year where I want to limit my trips as much as possible, especially when I get deeper into November. Of course, people not telling me what they want doesn't help and when I ask, it tends to be "I don't know". I feel like saying, "Well I don't think they carry that anywhere around here." Anyway, thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yeah I am glad I am prepared. I do feel a bit sorry for people who are forced to be in the crowds for various reasons. Those who purposely put it off, less so. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I'm a little bit of both I guess. I get some stuff early and then some stuff at the last minute. I do some online shopping but I also will brave the Black Friday crowds and the crowds of last minute shoppers. I keep saying every year that I'm going to start my christmas shopping in June, but it never happens. I procrastinate all the time. Plus I have a hard time having gifts here and knowing they are really good but not giving them to the people they are for. I'm usually too tempted and I end up giving them early. So it's better that I put it off till the last minute then I don't have to wait as long to give them.

I think you're in the boat of many. They swear this is the year that they are not going to put it off. Yet they do. Go figure. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

wow you are so good. well, i think i am a bad person.. hehe lol.. i dont really shop for Christmas. i dont want to give gifts on Christmas. maybe because i dont have money or because i dont want to spend much money. i am so thrifty to the extent that i dont even want to shop for myself.. i dont know. i am so confused with my personality. i am sooooooooo content being such a simple guy..

I know people like that as well. I think that while I tend to open up the wallet a bit for Christmas, I more than make up for it by being an utter cheapskate for the rest of the year. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

i love shopping as Christmas gets close. the nearer it gets, the cheaper the things are. i dont mind being in a crowded place as long as i am happy what i am doing.

Yeah it really does depend on the person. You can find some deals, providing no one beats you to them. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
