what is the basics of writing a non-fiction article or story?

I love to write, but sometimes my articles aren't sold or accepted. I was wondering if there is a particular way to write it. Thanks for any advice.

Write for things you like and read carefully and make sure to follow the instructions. Also write what you like to write about and make your articles interesting and entertaining.
