Is The Daily Show losing steam?

Lately, I have felt as though the awards they have been getting have been influencing them in a negative way. I feel like they are trying to tell me what they think I want to hear instead of just doing the best material they can create. Is it just me? or are they just not as funny anymore? Do you prefer The Colbert Report?

I just think the Daily Show is having a tough time right now as well they are trying to spin everything to the left as that is kinda what the show is all about and well the Colbert Report is a lot more funny as it is making fun of the Right Wing Talk Show people. And spinning the news to a right wing type light on it. So yeah the Colbert Report will be slightly funnier than the Daily Show as not as many things are going on right now just wait 2012 will be here soon and the Daily Show will pick right back up the same with the Colbert Report too.

Awesome points. Kind of hopeful too. I always liked both shows in their own ways. My favorite thing about The Daily Show, that they have still managed to stay true to, is how they quote people and then show clips or read other quotes from the same person or people stating the exact opposite. Do you know what i am trying to say? I am having a heck of a time explaining what I mean. Anyways, thanks for the perspective =)

During the last election, I had a feeling the Daily Show would go downhill if Obama won. Bush was just too much of a goldmine for a show that gets ratings from mocking foolish quotes from rightwing politicians. I agree that it will likely get better if/when the Republicans have a president in the White House again.

I think between the left and the right, there is more than enough material to make fun of for decades. I just wish The Daily Show would quit stooping to FOX news levels and try to be a little more objective. Both Olbermann AND O'Reilly need some brain pills. ha!
