What is the most interesting thing you have seen/learned online?

The first few things that come to mind. I got my computer less than a year ago. It is my first computer. Many of my friends have all of these interesting videos and articles and comic strips they found online but I have little to share myself. I have a few "golden web nuggets" of my own but maybe we can get more out of the web by sharing with each other here.

First of all, to learn how to use a computer and work on the internet was really interesting and exciting. And, the most interesting thing I have seen and leaned online is communicating by email. I was really so amazed how the writings gets transferred on line and at such an amazing speed across the land and ocean. This is one of the most wonderful technological developments in the world. !

Isn't it funny how people are still bothered by "slow internet"? I was just watching a comedian who said, "everything is amazing, and nobody is happy." He goes on to describe a person yelling at their cell phone for taking so long and how silly it is to be mad at such a thing. "The signal has to leave your little phone, go to outer space, talk to a satellite, come back down to earth to send your message...can't we afford to give it a couple seconds?!" lol That comedian is Louis C.K. by the way =) Thank you for the perspective =)

Well I have learned a lot because of the internet. But from what I have seen scouring the web, I have seen a really dark side of humanity which I am a little bit sad.

I agree. I too have seen the dark side you speak of. I always try to go against the grain in situations like that. Especially in chat rooms full of people spamming and trolls posting ignorant garbage. I like to come in and shed some light on the "conversation". Thank you for your post =)

Well, I would say that one of the biggest heureka moments for me was when I found some sites where people explained how you can earn money online. I always thought it was a scam before that, but then I discovered that it could actually be done. I do not remember what it was exactly that I saw at that point, but still.

I hear ya. The closest thing I have come to a site like that was a site that had really nice, objective reviews of survey sites. I don't use that site exclusively and it doesn't list sites like Mylot because Mylot is not a survey site but I am signed up for 5 survey sites that were recommended by this site. I always cross reference any research I do on a site like that though.
