It's election time again! It's time for us to voice our opinions. re-electing politicans and electing new ones is something we seriously consider today. So much bantering goes back and forth between candidates on the issues at hand. Do you think that your vote really matters to the politicans as they run for office. Do you think that your voice can make a difference?

No, I dont think it does and this is why i dont vote. I never have and more than likely never will...I feel that politics are just a bunch of broken promises and they will say anything to get voted in and then never follow through with them so I decided a long time ago that I wont vote because I dont believer any of what any of them say and none of them are better than the other...

Thank you for your opinion. Politicians do give us a lot of broken promises. if we vote, they don't get the chance to keep on making them.

i think it is possible that your vote can make a difference. There are so many opinions flying around and nowadays it is hard to know who to trust and who will do the better job.

Thank you for your contribution. We may be just one voice, but we deserve to be heard.

your very welcome. We do need to be heard, most of the time it feels as though we aren't. I did not vote last time but certainly will next time.

hi sender621 my vote counts if its added to all the other votes, like grains of sand at the beach one grain will not make a beah but manyh grains will make a lovely beach/ my vote may not get my canidates in but together with other votes for my particular candidates they could get in. So yes it does count, and its my duty as a citizen to cast that vote and not renege on it.

As a matter of fact ,I do.even if it's just one vote it really can make a difference. Many votes can put a person in a position. A vote is really powerful that's why some politicians try to buy it.

I take my right to vote very seriously and I am proud to be an American. The pass few years, I have felt like they were not listing to us, but hopefully today they will realized that they need to listen to the voters. Because, if they try to take us down the wrong path they well lose their seat. Take care Snow

Thank you for responding. If we want to make a difference in our country, now is the time to do it. If we think politicans aren't listening to us, this is the time to change that.

When you look at it in isolation, my vote is really a drop in the ocean, but if you considered that the winning votes are made o many individual voters votes, then you quickly see the point about the significance of your vote!

I feel left out when people talk about American politics :( Personally I don't vote, although I am registered. I wanted to, as I liked what the Lib Dems promised over here and I didn't want the Torrie's getting into power although that's what did happen. I just didn't think my vote would change the outcome, as I knew that Labour was going to lose because of Gordon Brown. I really wished the voting system was more effective over here and that parties was dropped, it should be done like it is in the states where people work together and they name who does what role from people in their party.

Hi Sender, In Indian scenario - (as I am an Indian and can vote here) - My vote doesnt matter. Yes, true that it is a drop in the ocean kind of thing but unfortunately there are many big fishes in that ocean that are just there to devour any good vote that is dropped. With millions voting just by getting misled by the Religion, Poverty and fake promises made by the politicians, a single or a mere hundreds of votes never would make a difference. Again, the list of candidates that we have - almost all are corrupt and non deserving at least my vote. And from the ones I have to select.... I can hardly find any right candidate. Cheers, theSids.

It depends how badly someone wants to win. The machines can be rigged, and I often wonder if my vote does count. I know it didn't in the last few elections we had, but those were local. I did still vote today, rather grudgingly.

Yes It think that your vote really counts as without you voting the people would not get a say in how the government is run. I think that voting is very important and I think that our society would be very different without people choosing the way the country is to be run. I personally like to vote and I think that it makes a different and will continue to vote for the rest of my life.

Yes definitely as a citizen we should raise our voice and believe me sometimes its the matter of a single vote which makes a big difference. It makes a lot of difference when we think as a whole. If all of us think that what will happen if I don't vote than just think how it will be. So, I think a single vote is very important.

Definitely yes. It's your right to voice up your interest in politician, rather i would say a responsibility to cast your vote. If you do not cast your vote where does you get a right to question your leader for his non or poor performance. Raise up your voices and elect the better politician. Happy elections.

I don't think that enough of us see a vote as our responsibility. if we all did this, look at what we could do. Thank you for responding.
