I have found a new hobby! Crocheting. I learned from Youtube. So far I have made 3 hats which I have given away. The only problem is I find crochet pattern and tried to make the project but I can't seem to understand all the terminology. Is there any easy (meaning: for dummies) to understand crochet pattern on the net that I can visit? I am really interested but failing to understand makes me disappointed.

I have been thinking about trying to learn crochet again. I've knitted for years, but never could quite get the hang of crochet. I second looking at Favecrafts. They have some easy knitting patterns, so I'm sure some of their crochet patterns are easy too. Have you looked for "beginning crochet patterns" or something like that?

That would be nice. The only thing I can crochet without a pattern is a chain! i can figure out a few simple things to knit without a pattern, but I usually follow one anyway.

Yes, I've signed up in Favecrafts. And I'm still looking for the easiest project I can find. By the way, my mum used to crochet when I was still young. She said she learned by herself and I never saw her with any crochet pattern to follow. I wish I can be like her.

Congratulations on your new hobby! I am a crochet fanatic. When I first learned, I taught myself from books, we didn't have computers and internet then. Sometimes if I have a difficult time with a pattern, I write it out on paper with a little more detail. Perhaps if you take it step-by-step in that way, it'll help. I've been crocheting for 30+ years and I still have problems with some patterns. Sometimes the patterns you get online, are not really tested very well and they are hard to follow. Get yourself a book that teaches crochet, there's plenty of them out there. The only other thing to do is find an experienced crocheter who is willing to help. I wish you lived nearby, I'd be happy to help. Keep it up, you'll never regret it. It's a great way to keep your hands busy while you're waiting in a doctor's office and very relaxing and medatative.l

Crocheting is fun. I have been crocheting for over 30 years, and I am addicted. Look up Teresa crochet in Youtube, and I am sure she has videos with crochet terminology. She is an excellent teacher.

if you can visit a library, there are lots of easy crocheting books there as well.

Maybe I will give it a try but then it is so much easier to just look it up on the net. You know, from the comfort of my house. (lazy I know.. :-) )

I hope I can say that it is easy for me also, but then I'm new and still learning. Have fun with your knitting, would love to try it after I "master" the crochet.. :-)
