Does skipping lunch and dinner helps me in losing my weights?

Since I came here to Dubai, I started to gain weight. They told me its my way of coping up with my homesickness. But as days past, I became more conscious with my body status because I looked so fat in my company uniform. I tried skipping meals but I am not quite sure if it helps a lot. Do you think that skipping meals would help me lose my fats? ^^

Oh no do not do this as it will throw your metabolism off. By this I mean you will get your body use to the smaller meals and then lose weight. But what do you after you lose the weight, as soon as you begin to eat again you will gain the weight by double. The poster above stated it nicely as you have to lesson the amount of calories while burning more than you eat. Good luck with this as it is a challenge. This I know because although I was not big to begin with but for a full year now I have done healthy eating with exercising. Also I was never a water drinker and find I drink almost a gallon a day. Just so you know I lost 60 pounds and have kept if off for over a year.

I have never heard this before you mentioned so I went to the net and found an interesting article. They say there truly is no research to back the fact that it actually works. According to the article it is simply another fad. Here is the link and I hope it helps: http://www.wisegeek.com/can-apple-cider-vinegar-really-help-me-lose-weight.htm

Skipping your meals doesn't really aid you in losin weight. We all need a diet of proper nutrition for good health. Watching what we eat and proper exercise would be more fulfilling to weight loss.

Skipping meals won't help. Your body will think that you are starving and your metabolism will slow down, meaning you will burn fewer calories throughout the day than you would if you eat meals. If you can, try working out. Cardio and some light weights will really help- the weights will help you gain lean muscles, which will burn more calories throughout the day, even if you aren't working out at that moment. Try eating low calorie meals, as well. Salads with no or light dressing (not creamy dressings!) are good for you.

Well, you should definitely have a big breakfast. I wouldn't say it's a good idea to skip BOTH lunch and dinner though, because I feel like you would be depriving yourself way too much. Maybe switch out your high-calorie dinner for a low-calorie protein bar or protein or weight loss shake, or even something like fruits & veggies, and see what happens. Dinner seems to be the most problematic meal for me, and it's not as good for your body - because you eat it so late, your body just doesn't have enought time to burn all those calories off. I think skipping 2 meals a day would be overkill, and would leave you deprived and exhausted. Start out skipping lunch or dinner (i'd say dinner) or replacing it with a healthier version of what you usually have, and see where that takes you. I know how frustrating it is to gain weight.. So good luck with whatever you decide to do!

I've heard that skipping meals can slow down your metabolism. Better to eat regular, small meals of good foods than skipping any.

Skipping meals doesn't help you lose weight neither does it make you put on weight though. It will make you tired and not have much energy to do anything though which isn't good for your health. Eating smaller healthier meals is the right way to lose weight and balance the meals out well to get the most of them and you will eventually lose the weight.

Skipping meals will make you drop weight for a little while.. but it will be muscle as well as fat... then your body will get used to the fewer calories and you'll stop losing weight. As soon as you start eating more again, you will gain a lot of weight back. So this is not a healthy option. Also, depriving your body of that many calories can lead to other health problems. As most of the other responders have said, the best way to lose weight is to eat a balanced, healthy diet.. and exercise! Exercise is the key to losing weight. You should aim for half an hour of cardio everyday.. that's where you get your body sweating and breathing really hard... for a half hour straight!

Skipping meals won't help you lose weight. In fact it will only make you gain weight. Skipping meals slows down your metabolism. What you can do is to have smaller portions of your meal. If you consume 1cup of rice every meal. try eating only half a cup of rice. And never skip your breakfast. Breakfast is the go signal of your metabolism, so if you skip it your metabolism will slow down. Drink more water because it aids digestion. Also, eat more fiber-rich food. And don't forget to exercise. Its the best way to lose weight AND to stay healthy.

hmm I don't think it will help you lose weight it will just make you sick or eat more than what you used too and not knowing it. Of you really want to lose some weight, try to jog or ride a bike with some friends it's fun and interactive. Eating vegies and fruits are good too and help us to digest food fast. Good luck to you. Stay healthy.

i think it doesn't help. i had read an article that skipping meals will likely develop into obesity. since, you missed a meal, you will likely to double your next meal because you're hungry. self-discipline and controlling of food intake will help you lose fats. take care. GOD bless us.

Definitely it will not help you lose weight. You are actually looking for sickness. What you can do first is to lessen your intake of rice. Then gradually, you can have a heavy breakfast , then eat a cup of rice with viand at lunch, then fruits at dinner. That will help you lose weight without worrying much of your health. At night, if you can feel hungry, you can eat fruits.

Wont help you at all. The best way to be in shape is to exercise, eat more often but smaller meals and eat healthier food. When you skip launch and dinner, your body thinks that is some dangerous time without many food around and will start trasforming every meal into pure fat for even more dangeous times...

skipping lunch or dinner is not the solution for weight loss.you may just get sick by doing that.infact you have to take 6 small meals a day.remember the word "small".that is the trick in weight loss.you have to wrk on excercise on regular basis.weight loss is directly proportional to the amount f energy burned thrugh work.so just do the right amount of work to burn the energy.in this way you dont need to skip lunch or dinner. This is what i do to loose my weight.trust me it works. Have a nice day.Happy mylotting :D

Not really all the things you need to do it is check what are you eating because if u skip this meals you are going to make your metabolism more slow , so try to eat in lunch one apple and water or a nice salad, but always watch your foods.
