Will the whining never end? With everything happening in the world today. hell, in our country, the Giants are whining that President Obama did not call to congratulate then for beating the Rangers. Hey, I have a crazy idea, lets let him worry about his JOB rather than patting you on the head and giving an atta boy! http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/11/02/sports/s034930D67.DTL Now most of you know, I very rarely EVER defend our President. But this one, come on guys. We all complain everyday about jobs, the economy, health care....... but that he didnt bother calling to tell me good job because I saved 20% on chicken...... Am I the only one annoyed by this?

If nothing else, he should congratulate you for contributing to the rousing conversation here.

Next thing you know.. in order to gain approval ratings Obama will delegate all his duties.. even if that means hiring many more workers to cover such duties, so that he can spend his days calling every single American to congratulate them for something! Obama: "Hi.. what did you accomplish today?" Me: "I cleaned my stove and toilet" Obama: (with sincere excitement) "Well, CONGRATULATIONS!! Have a nice day.. talk to you next week!"

I mean come on.. that victory was a MAJOR accomplishment for them and means something to ALL Americans! It's like as important as solving the immigration problem! Get with it Pres!! Being sarcastic by the way

It does go to show how little Obama cares about our traditions... Presidents have been calling the winners of the World Series for decades now. However, I agree that it's not earth shattering news.

It's just a tradition that presidents have carried on for decades. With all the many rounds of golf (an average of more than one a week throughout his time in office), he can't really say he's too busy to call them. :~D But again, while it is a tradition, it isn't an earth shattering oversight. I think it's a lot worse that he has never met with the families of fallen soldiers since he's been president. Obama has made it pretty clear that if it doesn't make him the center of attention, he has no interest.

This is true but I agree this is not earth shattering and his party is about to lose the majority....

Oh, laglen, I am sorry that you called him "our president" because he is not. If we had a president things would be very different in so many ways. And the usurper is NOT worried about his "job" because he knows his "mission" of jihad is almost accomplished and his money boys will take care of him no matter what. I wish he would worry about something, but he has neither heart nor conscience; I don't know how he sleeps at night, or Soros, or Ayers, but, as Alan Keyes has said when he warned us about Obama years ago, "His conscience is seared." How can you defend him, my friend, for anything; all he does is evil.

I was simply stating my annoyance with this team being upset over something like this. Unfortunately, he is our President until a court deems otherwise.

Well just so you know, your Big Guy didnt call me either.....I didnt save enough on chicken......!!! You have to remember that jocks have an ego the size of ........erm....the size of.......well Im sure you can figure that one out LOLOLOL I think your country and mine suffer from the same disease = not looking at the REAL issues and making up stupid ones instead. No I wont give you a list of the things we're whining about here...its too ....too silly to even write about.

That is rather disgusting. People are so superficial now and days. Do you know who I blame the most for this foolishness. The President, himself is to blame. He is always rendering his opinion on pop culture. You would think he is more like a celebrity then the leader of a nation. Once he started with weighing in on silly issues that make no difference to the economy, people expected it out of him.

ok, that I can agree with whole heartedly. He does like to dabble in crap that has nothing to do with him and move away from what he should be doing.

I disagree mostly, our fall from grace cant be blamed on Obama as we were free falling BEFORE he ever even ran for President. Our society is going down the crapper. Read the post above yours, our friend from down under said it very well.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that the problems of our society is the President's fault. What I am saying is, the President is always weighing in on issues that have absolutely nothing to do with the White house. He issues statements about Kanye West being an A-hole. He shakes hands of the soldiers instead of salutes. He is way to involved in the pop culture, instead of being involved in white house issues. So now when people do simple pop culture things, they expect the President to have nothing better to do, but to comment on it. I believe he shouldn't start something he couldn't finish. Great discussion.

Oh shoot, I kinda liked the giants until I read this. I liked them even though I'm a Phillies fan. There's something about a bunch misfits who go on to take it all but it doesn't hold up when they start whining.

You are totally correct. The President has to much on his plate to worry about calling a team because they won. That is so stupid and corny all at the same time. I'm happy he didn't call. That shows he is not thinking about stupid sports results but dealing with what is going on all over the country with the economy, unemployment, health care reform and so many more problems to many to print right now.

Hiya laglen, Well I am sorry that they were not congratulated personally by the President. I was not congratulated by ours here either. I managed to get 30 percent off something and he did not bother to ring me up and tell me either. I have done a good cleaning Job of the House and he has not took any notice either. Actually I would rather him not bother we see enough of him on the News and I rarely see that. But no I am not annoyed that neither Presidents have bothered to call me. Saying in Spain "me in my House and God in everyone else´s" and that´s the way I like it me in my House and everyone in their own House without the President of Spain bothering us I mean. Meaning of Spanish Proverb really means that all of us run our own lives and the President he lives his as well. I think I have "sunk the ship" trying to explain that one. It´s a goodwill proverb anyway so that´s okay is it not?

If I'm not mistaken, President Bush was there...and he congratulated them. Well, he clapped... And I guess I'll have to disagree, Laglen. It's not like our President is working on the economy, health care... Last time I checked he was campaigning on my dime and calling me an "enemy". And I'll bet he isn't officially on "leave".

They are beyond excited that for once the fame in baseball history of California belongs to them and not the dodgers. They are upset at the fact tradition was broken as its common courtesy that the winning team gets a call from the President. It takes 5 minutes of ones time. Yes, elections were the next day but many people like to see sacred and old traditions honored. People are getting annoyed at how "different" he is compared to others and I am not saying thats a positive nor negative trait. The complaint stands, why break sacred tradition? Disclaimer: These are just my personal thoughts about the matter and in no way reflect the official position of the CholentGroup.

I have told my fourth grade students are not allowed to whine anymore. Our society is full of whiners, and it is getting pathetic. When will people take personal responsibility...do what they need to do whether or not they get congratulated. And isn't it enough that you won and have the adoration of millions of people. Really now...
